macroban
I see from the recent Blue Mountain thread that the revisionist history of when East Dulwich gentrification started has raised its ugly head again.I still think this started with Tiger Lily (54 Grove Vale) in 1979.Sex in East Dulwich started in 1963. Moos
The trouble with bloody poncey East Dulwich is that there isn't enough Philip Larkin. Zebedee Tring
Larkin wasn't working class. He was solidly middle class - his dad was Borough Treasurer of Coventry City Council, albeit a Fascist supporting one. And biographies of P Larkin since his death have shown P Larkin in a less than PC light. Like father, like son. RosieH
That's right - poetry only for the bourgeoisieThe working classes are too busy with colliery bands (lord love scargill) and eating battered sausages (god bless aunt bessie) to waste their time with such effete nonsense as literature Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1100-when-and-why-did-ed-become-so-poncey/page/9/#findComment-106626 Share on other sites
