We used to have a great moth problem and tried everything including dry cleaning ALL clothes. An assistant in John Lewis when asked for her advice asked if we had carpets and we said yes. She said 'then you will never get rid of them'. We got rid of the sticky pads. Apart from the nightly job of squashing the still living and struggling ones which was upsetting, we realised that it was attracting evry moth from far and wide. Males can detect the scent from miles away. Ordinary moths have a range of 7 miles apparently. We bought an electric swatter in the shape of a tennis racket which is easy to catch them with and they frizzle instantly. Overnight the population disappeared. We have now changed to wooden floors. They don't like manmade carpets so that's an option. Still see the occassional one but easy to spot against pale walls.

Also we hoover in the wardrobe and bedboxes and corners fairly regularly. With a Henry of course and empty it straightaway. Got that tip from the internet today. Still use lavender bags and a spray from Lakeland. Ongoing battle.

    • Might it be more respectful to refrain from asking this on a local forum which his family are on as if it's merely akin to casually asking if anyone has heard what's happening with the empty shop space next to Oliver Bonas or if anyone knows which dentists are taking on new patients? Christ. Google it if you're that interested. They are a real family and this isn't a Reddit discussion on a true crime documentary. Extraordinary
