Help-Ma-Boab
Edit: Realised its groom not best mans!. I haven't done 3 grooms speeches!Best tip I ever got was keep it short. No more than 1500 words.I've done it 3 times now and the first was wayyyyy to long.Good luck Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/109011-grooms-speech/#findComment-1004702 Share on other sites

mikeb
Keep it simple, compliment your wife, thank everyone, say something nice about your new in-laws and then get out of the way to let the best man entertain everyone.Don't read out people's letters etc. Life is too short for thatIf you'd prefer something different then sing a song, do it in rhyme, include foreign languages, use poster-sized photos of your wife as a child / teenager. ruffers
Nothing wrong with bog standard - tick the boxes and get out of the way. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/109011-grooms-speech/#findComment-1005227 Share on other sites
rendelharris
As all the above, keep it as simple as you can - mine consisted of "I'd like to thank so many friends and family for coming, I'd like to thank Susan for making me so happy and I'd like to give you a toast - to love, and may it last for ever!" Went down OK. Your wedding day's the one day in your life everyone looks after you, just enjoy it and don't worry about trying to put on a show. And the very best of luck! Salsaboy
Start with 'Can the people in the cheap seats hear me?' aimed at those sitting at the back. Got a laugh when I used it. LadyNorwood
"Fornication" - for an occasion such as this one..... That's how my best friend's best man's speech started (bit convoluted but we got there)....
