It started as a food truck and went on to become a restaurant of some high standing. In fact they led where others followed and have continued to break new ground.

(#amazeballs, I'm guilty of using such phrases to irritate my teenage son)


They did however pioneer the Pickle back thing, using good bourbon and home brewed picke juice. They made it fun (and gave you a massive hangover) and if you ate out in Soho on a regular basis, then this place was very special. Sadly the Soho site is now gone and they reside in a bigger and more commercially viable space Nr Liverpool Street. And the pickle backs are gone, as is the pulled pork.


The Chef/owner has taken a progressive step, by buying a farm and breeding and rearing his own beasts. He started 3 years ago with Mangalitza (the woolly ones) pigs and now has a herd of 160+. They new farm project has a herd of around 100+ Dexter cows. All for the supply to the restaurant, and for a guy who's about 30, I take my hat off to him.

Yes, Pitt Cue... that's the one. Yeah it was really good, very much my type of food. I just found the pickle back thing (and some of the other customers) a bit daft. The queue was dafter still.


New site sounds OK, but looking at the menu, might as well be a completely different restaurant. Also, appears to be only open during the week... so unlikely to try it any time soon...

I don't think they pioneered the pickleback thing. Possibly the first to do it in London, but it's been around in the states (Brooklyn) since 2006. According to wiki.

I'm still getting over the jam jars with handles thing, especially the ones with a straw through the lid. I saw a grown man drinking out of one the other week.
