I want to register mine so I can pay her with childcare vouchers, but since Ofsted took over the registration from Sure Start it seems to be impossible! I got stuck in this loop with Ofsted telling me to talk to Southwark and Southwark telling me to talk to Ofsted.... anyone got any tips?

I downloaded the forms off the Ofsted website and posted them back to Ofsted. If I remember righty it's the CR1 form and they have a PDF or Word document to download, you may even be able to do it online. Although the document is about 50 pages long and you need to return every page even the blank ones...! You don't actually have to complete each page.

They also have a telephone number helpline for filling in the form. http://www.ofsted.gov.uk/Ofsted-home/Forms-and-guidance/Browse-all-by/Other/General/Application-forms-for-the-Childcare-Register-forms-CR1-and-CR2/(language)/eng-GB 0300 123 1231

Is your nanny already First Aid qualified? If not speak to this lady at Southwark Council - Monica Larlhan on 020 7525 5240 or 07903 258820

Thanks very much Bumpy. The form has me coming out in a cold sweat... I can't believe my nanny needs public liability insurance when she's working in my home! Honestly, Ofsted couldn't make things much more prohibitively complicated if they tried! I'll need to get her a first aid cert, so thanks for the number!

    • All good to hear. Cheers BNG If I’m honest, those fliers give off very bland corporate energy   also. Shouldn’t it be a relaunch party instead of a launch party?    hopefully I’m wrong and it’s great
    • The good news is that the Blythe's new leaseholder is Austin Whelan, who runs a chain of very decent Irish pubs, mainly in south London. By all accounts, he has no intention of making any major changes. It reopened last week.
    • A builder said that to me once! What I should have said (but thought of it too late) was that given that I was paying him to do a job, I expected that my glass would be full, not half full 🤣 But yes, you are right in this instance!
    • Just had a flyer through the door. Posting here for people who haven't had theirs yet. The 50% off food is for three days only, and advance bookings only. I liked the EDT as it used to be, so I really hope the changes won't be too massive. Last time I looked through the window the bar seemed to be still in the same place, but who knows. Think I'll wait a bit to try the food. When The Lordship launched, we went for a meal there and let's say things didn't go smoothly 😂 Anybody who was there will know what I mean 😂 They have redeemed themselves since, I hasten to add 😂
