Cricket for kids all ages (training & matches), various days at SMCC between ED and Forest Hill

Recommended Posts

Know someone in school year 1-10 who would like to learn and play cricket? Come and join us! We?re actively seeking more players in all age-groups and kids can join a training session for free to see how they like it.

We?re sure they will. We have well over 100 cricket-mad kids, a mixture of boys and girls, from complete beginners to Surrey District and London Schools players, training and playing matches with us every week. Perhaps your kids will be the next Ben Stokes or Sarah Taylor. Let?s find out!

Our coaching is led by a professional cricket coach who also works in many schools and is experienced coaching youth teams at county level. Our coaching support staff are also ECB accredited and DBS checked. Training sessions are lots of fun and kids learn and use the full range of cricket skills, even in our youngest age-group. It?s amazing to watch them playing full-on pairs cricket!

2016 summer training (mid-April to mid-July):

Mon 18:00-19:30 ? School years 1-3 (Under 6 ? Under 8)

Tues 18:00 ? 20:00 ? School years 7-10 (Under 12 ? Under 15)

Wed 18:00 ? 20:00 ? School years 4-6 (Under 9 ? Under 11)

We break for May half term - there is no training on 30th & 31st May and 1st June. The season ends shorty before the summer holidays.

Our fees (see http://bit.ly/1XSW6Yr) are great value and on par with other local cricket clubs, but we also offer our ?everyone gets a game policy? ? meaning that in age-groups that play matches against other clubs, we aim to ensure every player gets the chance to play at least 3 matches, as long as they can safely and enjoyably do so.

Interested? Email us now at [email protected] and we?ll get back to you normally within a few hours.

Even if the session you want to join is the same evening, that?s usually possible. We?d love to see you there.

We also run indoor training during autumn/winter, normally from November to March.

We're located between East Dulwich and Forest Hill, near the junction of Lordship Lane and the South Circular near the former Grove Tavern/Harvester, Tile Giant and Bathstore.

Hi everyone. Just a quick update to say that we're proud to announce that this weekend we'll be having possibly our first every Under 8s match - a friendly against Old Whitgiftians! Hopefully a few more Under 8s matches in the pipeline too.

And we're particularly keen to recruit a few more Under 12 (year 7) and Under 13 (year 8) players at the moment. New joiners in these age groups are likely to get a lot of matches. :-) If interested, ping us on [email protected]

    • Looking for a celebrity impersonator for a party or any good companies any one knows, please let me know!!
    • That’s another big hike on the Sainsbury’s mini rolls! I spoke to one of the managers on the day of the anchovies price rise but all he could say was that his store doesn’t set the prices. Very vague and not helpful. i started this thread about price rises in  Sainsbury’s and it’s somehow being blamed on Brexit etc!
    • And the Sainsbury’s own brand chocolate mini rolls have gone from £1.15 to £1.40 overnight, so 22%-ish. I prefer them them to the Cadbury original because they have a lot more chocolate on them, presumably because they’re made in a less advanced factory. I would think that getting the Rizla thin coating of chocolate that Cadbury’s accountants demand onto a piece of sponge is quite a sophisticated operation. Discuss.
    • Another recommendation for Leon. He was able to come out to our electrical elergency within 24 hours of me contacting him. His communication was great and whilst he could not solve our problem, he was able to perform tests to identify this and did so quickly and efficiently. He charging  is very fair and his manner very pleasant. Both of these in contrast to some experiences I have had elsewhere.    happy to put my name to recommending Leon. His number is  07707 925039.
