Belle
just watching 64 zoo lane with my little boy (like this soooo much more than waybuloo) and am convinced the frog is billy connolly! anyone know if it is his voice? nunheadmum
I was thinking the same but when I listened more closely, it didn't sound quite like him. It does seem to be a bit of a thing just now though, to get known names doing voices. It's sooooo irritating to hear a voice and not be able to place it! littleEDfamily
Lenny Henry is Big, from Big and Small, right?I am going to watch 64 zoo lane all week to verify this....... I can actually tolerate that one.... Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/10780-64-zoo-lane-billy-connolly/#findComment-314123 Share on other sites
????
Some grow on you amazingly - I've warmed to Jakers....but Timmy Time is my favourite. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/10780-64-zoo-lane-billy-connolly/#findComment-314199 Share on other sites

Belle
I like the fact postman pat doesn't seem to work for the royal mail anymore... V politically topical... And I too actually quite like zoo lane, plus confess to a certain soft spot for the current cbeebies spring theme tune. ryedalema
I love Timmy Time and 64 Zoo Lane (although I much preferred 64 when it was just before bedtime!). The TV tends to 'break down' when In the Night Garden or the Teletubbies is on - I can't stand the brain addling-ness.Another Mummy confession - oops. :-$ Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/10780-64-zoo-lane-billy-connolly/#findComment-314249 Share on other sites
littleEDfamily
Yes, 64 Zoo Lane is definitely the pick of the bunch. Is it immature of me to sing the song as '64 Poo Lane', though?I told my daughter in complete frustration the other day that she wouldn't be watching Waybaloo as they were 'loons' - she seemed quite offended. What's with the strange noises and baby talk on shows like Waybaloo and In the Night Garden? Surely they're meant to be helping our children learn to form actual words.Didn't know Lenny was Big AND Small. Fascinating, yet still quite grating. Keef
I quite like the one with the birds living in the tree. It's quite musical. Pickle
There's also a new one (well, since I went away in Feb anyway) called Zingzillas which my kids love. So far I've seen Cleo Laine, John Dankworth and Julian Lloyd-Webber on it, quite impressive for a kids programme (and all people I've had the pleasure of performing with in the past, so kids are getting a running commentary on Mummy's life pre-children!). ryedalema
I'm watching Zingzillas right now - is it weird to think that the lead singer monkey is quite fit (underneath the costume obv.)?Someone's going to tell me it's Keith Chegwin or something now aren't they? Ant
For slightly older kids: CBBC, 5.45pm Mon-Thur, Big Babies. It's excellent. Sometimes it's followed by Sean the Sheep and then Jakers, which is an all-star line up in my book.Third and Bird was very popular with my lot for a while, but then the Wonderpets came along and no one's doing the muffin any more. Jamma
It's not Billy Connolly. It's a chap called Lewis McLeod who does lots of voiceovers on all sorts of stuff and can do some good impressions too. Hence the Billy Connolly.Of course the real lyrics to Zoo Lane go "There's one with a hump and one that can jump, and one that is a bit of a c---. 64,64,64 Zoo Lane" Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/10780-64-zoo-lane-billy-connolly/#findComment-314888 Share on other sites
