Hi,

My partner and I are getting married later this year and as we have a number of children coming, then we are looking for an entertainer who can perhaps take some pressure off parents and also make the day a little more fun for the kids.

The challenge is that there is a real mix of ages, there will be around 10 children between ages of 2-5 years and then around 12 children between ages of 6-10. I am assuming that what may work for the lower age range, might not work for the slightly older group. Does this mean perhaps two different types of entertainment or could there be a 1 size fits all?

We have a separate room as part of the venue for an entertainer, plus also going to hire some childcare/nannies to help with 'crowd control'. So any advice or tips for this type of children's event are appreciated and of course any recommendations for specific entertainers warmly welcome.

Thank you!

We went to an engagement party recently where they had an "entertainer" for about 2 hours, dealing with roughly the same age group. They had 3 set ups...

- HUGE box of Lego

- colouring / drawing

- bead station where they could make necklaces / key rings / bracelets

The team of 2 interacted wth the children across the 3 activities.

Congrats, and how lovely to have all the children coming. :)

I recommend the Bedlam Bunch, who are organised by Ros Parker. http://thebedlambunch.co.uk/

We have had characters from the Bedlam Bunch at school events and my daughter's birthday party. I've also seen them working together in their group format at festivals, and the children are really enchanted by their work. With two or more entertainers working together, it's easier to accommodate the different ages. You can also customise your entertainment package to include creative activities.

Good luck, and have fun! xx

    • Some newspapers, such as The Times, organise deliveries throughout most of the UK. They obviously use subcontractors and I would rate their service as 9 out of 10. We used them previously before switching to Budgens on Half Moon Lane.
