hirstian
I am sure Aston is great, but he quoted us ?40 per hour where two other people also recommended here were ?25 per hour, so we have not used him. We assumed he was very busy and didn't want our job which is fair enough of course, but it did strike us as a rather high rate! indiepanda
Aston did a small job for me yesterday, hanging pictures and helping me carry an armchair up an awkward staircase. He was good at fitting me in at short notice, kept me informed about arrival time and did the job carefully and efficiently. I would recommend. georgina_l
Another very positive review of Aston's work. He fitted a clothesmaid laundry airer to our kitchen ceiling. Great response to get him booked in, very polite and friendly and the did a great job. No idea how his price compares with others but makes a big difference to me when someone is easy to book and comes when they say they can! Will definitely contact again for any tricky jobs round the house. Danielle79
Could not recommend Aston enough. Did wonderful work to smarten up our kitchen and fixed our shower door (we had thought we were going to have go replace our entire shower unit until he worked his magic). Lovely person and excellent service Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/106540-recommendation-for-brilliant-handyman-aston/page/7/#findComment-1294027 Share on other sites

cella
I'm currently in the throes of getting work done and am looking for, amongst others, (& see my other moans on here about unhelpful small businesses)handypeople to carry out a range of very small jobs. ?300 for what appears to be a small job - and spread over 2 days - seriously?! akc74
Just like to add more feedback for Aston - he was really punctual and friendly and did a range of little jobs for me, and will be back to do more! I am really glad to have someone reliable and communicative to call on for the DIY that we are aren?t able to get done. RyeRambler
Aston came over to move a curtain rail for us on Tuesday. He was easy to get hold of and very punctual as everyone has already pointed out. I didn't get to meet him but my wife thought he was a great guy and I'm very happy with the work and price so will definitely get him back if we need anything else done Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/106540-recommendation-for-brilliant-handyman-aston/page/7/#findComment-1295422 Share on other sites
Stollis
Aston did a great job: he was on time, really polite and friendly and made the best of a difficult and ambiguous fix. Isn?t recommend him to give honest assessments and quality work. We?ll certainly be asking him for help on future jobs. gingerandhoney
Aston is the best handyman I know for over an year. I lost count how many times he came to fix or readjust the numbers of doors (internal and external) at my home which keep developing the problems for various reasons. Yesterday, he came to change my bathroom lock which was badly fitted in the first place by the builder who did the extension work at my flat, and replaced and repositioned the outdoor socket box. He is always punctual, works diligently and won't rush his job to finish off as quick as possible unlike some others. He checks and makes sure that I'm absolutely satisfied with his work before he leaves. I feel I can always rely on him as I know for sure he is conscientious with his work. I can highly recommend him as always. His contact number is 07490 947355. Stollis
Aston gets my recommendation: very good job done removing some shelves and installing a tv stand. Also really helpful in talking about how to do the job and what he could do and couldn?t do for the money. It helps he?s a really nice guy too. Patriciann
This is the third time we?ve used Aston this year. He comes when he says he will, he is efficient and does an excellent job. We have no reservations about recommending him. [email protected]
So this time I needed a curtain track put up and some mirrors properly put up and safe. Contacted Aston as I have used him before and he fitted me in despite being really busy. To be honest I would rather wait for him than pick anyone else!! He seems to be able to turn his incredible skills to anything and again I had all my work done today by a lovely expert!! Aside from the jobs I had for him he replaced ceiling lights because he saw some were out. He makes sure you are pleased before he leaves too. I?m wary about people coming into my house but Aston is a really genuinely nice person as well as being the best handyman!! catkin
Aston is great - Does a brilliant job with excellent attention to detail. He's just stripped out and disposed of a fitted wardrobe and shelves, and made good the walls where the plaster had come off and prepped them for the decorator. He's extremely tidy - I thought it would be quite dusty but he left the room immaculate. I'd used him for various other smaller jobs before and they've always been done to a very high standard. philly8000
On these recommendations we asked Aston to come and do a few jobs - hanging pictures, mirrors, curtain rails and fitting a blind. As well as resealing our shower and filling a few holes in our bathroom wall. He was great. Did everything we asked to a good standard and even hung our curtains! Would definitely recommend him. RBtheCatman
His daily rate when I called him a little while ago was ?400 a day which explains the high cost of putting up towel rail and loo roll holder. Most handymen I've called charge around ?150 a day. CLJ31
Aston recently put up a wall-mounted bike holder; made good a damp-damaged section of paper lining and repainted; fixed some broken tiles on the front step; and replaced two door knobs and a latch for ?260. He was efficient, timely and tidy. I reckon it took him 5-6 hours, and all the materials were included in the price, so about ?40-50 p/hour (which ties in with the ?400 per day mentioned above). It's not cheap, but he did a great job and although I have paid less for similar before (although not as little as ?150)the overall experience and the standard of work wasn't as good as I got from Aston. NB - he prefers payment in cash so be prepared to visit the ATM. A lot of these tasks are simple and straightforward and the idea that cash in hand is publically asked for on here...? I seriously don't think we should be encouraging potential tax avoidance in this way - not as though customers are even getting a cut price deal! One to avoid. Cathann
Another recommendation for Aston. He made and fitted some cupboard doors in a bedroom for us recently. His work was excellent, he cleaned up afterwards and we'd certainly call him again for other work.
