I would also like to add my recommendation for Aston. He managed to come at short at notice to fit a new bath panel, and fix a loose curtain pole fixing. I was really pleased with his work, he did a fantastic job at very good prices. He was on time, kept me informed of what he was doing, polite and very tidy.

A really nice nice guy to do business with, and would definitely use him again. Thanks Aston!

I used Aston after reading the reviews on this thread, we needed a self door closer fitted at our old flat and bathroom cupboard assembled and fitted at our new house. He managed to fit us in very promptly which was great, did an excellent job on both items and we will definitely use him again for our ever increasing list of tasks we need doing at our new place. We highly recommend Aston, he is a really nice guy too.

We asked Aston to secure an outside loo and to shave the bottom off a door after a new carpet fitting. He was polite, kept us informed of when he would be able to do the job and arrived when he said that he would. Both jobs were done in less time than we had anticipated and we wouldn't hesitate to use Aston again.

Used Aston again for the second time in six weeks today, five jobs this time and very happy again, one particularly tricky job we thought might not be achievable but Aston managed so we are very pleased this one was completed. I highly recommend and we will use again no doubt.

I would like to thank people who recommended Aston here. After reading many people recommended Aston at East Dulwich Forum, I have contacted him and asked him to re-hang my front door. Although he was booked up for a while, he still made time to come around to my home to check it up prior to the work. On a day of the job, he was punctual, friendly and thorough with his work despite our door wasn't ideal condition. He was also a great communicator and he made sure there was no misunderstanding between us (confirmation of time, date and materials required). I am very happy to have found him and would definitely ask him again to do more job in future.

I found Aston's name via this thread when I was looking for someone to hang a shelf and a mirror, and, like everyone else, I was very happy with his work. He was prompt and efficient, insisted on hoovering up the residual dust, and generally just seemed like a very kind person. If I need more work done in future I'll definitely ring him again.
Thank you for all the recommendation on this thread. As a result I contact Aston and he did a great job putting up and painting a new gate for us. He even sourced materials for me, remained entirely cheerful when it ended up being a bigger job than expected and cleared up brilliantly. We will definitely be calling on him again!

I would also recommend Aston...

In the last two days he has completely cleared our list of odd jobs: hanging about 7 pictures and a fire blanket, replacing the hinges on the garden gate and mending the fence, attaching a toilet roll holder to the wall, re-attaching a a couple of loose bathroom fittings to a tiled wall, repairing a water damaged ceiling, putting up a ceiling rose, and filling countless (at least 20) holes of varying sizes in the walls, including sanding them and priming reading for painting.

He came prepared with all the kit, was reliable, punctual, polite, friendly (my kids loved him), and cleaned up after himself. Not sure what else you could ask for!

I am pleased to recommend Aston. I contacted him after reading this thread and he promptly replied, established what I wanted to be done and arranged a time. He was punctual, discussed the various jobs that I requested and carried them out thoroughly and efficiently. He was very organised, had all the necessary tools available, worked quickly and ensured that he cleaned up any debris.

I shall definitely be in touch with Aston in the near future with a request to complete a number of other tasks which still need attention.

Another recommendation for Aston!

I contacted him due to the recommendations here and would happily recommend him to others.

He undertook the work to a high standard and helpfully supplied the items needed for the work I needed doing.

Would use Aston again.

We are also pleased to recommend Aston! Came round to fit a shower screen, build an ottoman bed, do some electrical work with the lights and a number of other smaller jobs around the flat. Friendly and trustworthy guy who takes pride in his work. We will certainly be calling on him again in the future!!!
We have used Aston before with brilliant results when he attach a tall heavy cabinet to the bathroom wall after I had failed miserably. This week I had decided to put up a new roller blind in my daughter's bedroom myself thinking it an easy job!!I couldn't drill very far into the wall - something wasn't right SO CALL ASTON!! We needed the blind up within a few days and Aston was able to oblige. I had met Aston before but my wife hadn't and she agrees with me and the many many reviews on this forum that Aston is fantastic - a real asset to the local community. I have also learnt that those jobs I sometimes think of as straightforward can be far from that unless you really know what you are doing. Aston does know what he is doing and his rates are reasonable and competitive- even more so because of the quality of his work and general service. So next time if it's much more than banging in a picture hook and there is any risk of mucking it up, I know who I will be contacting.....!
Another +1 for Aston - he did a few different jobs for us; filling/painting my dodgy polyfilla'd wall attempts, installing a combination lock on an outside gate, remodelling some coving around a window, and varnishing some interior doors. All done well on time and to a great standard. I'll definitely be asking him to come back when I've built up another list!
I'd like to add another recommendation for Aston. Aston came and fitted a cat flap, fixed hinges on a built in washing machine door, and put up two trellises - all in the space of an hour. He is an excellent handyman. He is capable of taking on all kinds of jobs and finishing them all to a very high standard. I will definitely use Aston again!

Another recommendation for Aston - he replaced the roof on our shed a few months back after it was leaking and cut down some large branches that were overhanging it. All nice and dry now after a lot of heavy rain! Aston is a really nice guy, sent me pictures of the work before and after, turned up on time and was great at communicating. Highly recommend and we'll definitely be contacting him again for future jobs.
I booked Aston as a result of all the recommendations on the EDF, he worked at my home today and he was fantastic. He is very versatile in what he can do - this morning he put together an IKEA flat pack three drawer unit, and disposed of my old one, refixed a door knob, went out to buy then replaced a variety of bulbs in central lights in very high ceilings, loosened a tap which had become stuck, and did many other things, all for a good price, and quickly. He was also very clear about which jobs he thought I would need to get in specialist help for, and I greatly appreciated that he did not just carry on regardless on those items. He has a very nice attitude, never making me feel stupid for being unable to do the jobs myself. He also cleaned up after afterwards without being asked. I will definitely be using him again, and consider myself lucky to have "found" him.

    • I was also just on a p13 towards Streatham  and this was diverted up to Barry rd by the Library, so is not heading up Whateley Rd and first part of  underhill. It says on the service update  UNDERHILL ROAD: ROUTE P13 is diverted in both directions due to damaged manhole cover. Buses are not serving the Crystal Palace Road and Whateley Road stops.
    • Thanks for the update
    • Agree postage spiralled under the last Govt, but because of thieving Reeves budget to increase Employer NI contributions that is the direct cause right NOW for Royal Mail to look at increasing postal rates.  You may not like the "bashing" the three stooges is getting, but they couldn't have made a worse start in the first 120 days in Office.  The continual reference by Starmer to "my dad was a tool maker" - no he wasn't, it was his business and then of course that wonderous line about "in my last job as the Director of Public Prosecutions", actually who cares, he is supposed to be the Prime Minister. Stop the constant references and get on with the job. What we have here right now is inflation rising, unemployment rising, cost of living still rising, energy prices rising when they said they would reduce them. A 22bn black hole pat caused by a wage increase for the public sector that makes up about half of that. A Chancellor not qualified to as an economist, the lies just keep on coming, how many times do they get to trip themselves up?  When you are in Govt, be prepared for scrutiny, that is what this is all about.   The people need to rise up and throw them out of Office.
