KidKruger
all in the mind, just like 'what does 30 mean ?', 'what does 40 mean ?' etc etc...fluff, which if we all obliged it would dictate the way we live and interact. Sue
It's when you start to get middle age spread.Parts of your body appear to migrate to other parts and if you're a woman your waist disappears.Or is that old age rather than middle age?AARRRGGGHHHH:-S Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/10639-when-do-you-think-middle-age-begins/page/2/#findComment-311477 Share on other sites

Acid Casual
Logically it's peak should be 39 years, 6 months, given that the average UK life expectancy is 79, so basically 35 to 45ish?However, averages prove sod all. The average human being has one breast, one testicle, half a penis and half a vagina.I am fast approaching that middle mark and I certainly don't feel middle aged, albeit I certainly DO feel older and would no longer be considered "young"I'd say that logically you would have to subtract the first 12 years of life from the final figure, as you are undeniably pre-adolescent. Therefore the mid point between 13 and 79 is 46. Take that as the peak of middle age and add 5 years either side, I'd say that middle age should commence at 41 and conclude at 51.But like any methodology is just musing and opinion. Brendan
A man far older and wiser than me once told me, ?Son, when a man reaches a certain age his hips start to spread and there?s nothing he can do about it.? To which I replied, ?Yeah dad, same can be said for some of the girls I know and their legs.? In reply to which he smacked me in the head and said, ?That?s the last time I try to pass on fatherly advice to you yah wee gobshite. Learn some respect for ladies.?? And to think I paid for these pints.?I think he was just pissed off because he had reached middle age. ruffers
When you're younger you can eat what you like, drink what you like and still climb into your 26 inch waist trousers and zip them closed. Then you reach that age, 24 / 25, your muscles give up they wave a little white flag and then without any warning at all, you're suddenly a fat bastard.
