RPC, I'm sure these things can be helpful if it includes a tuition element and you take the advice away with you.


However, surely any weight loss through a short "detox" programme is by it's very nature temporary? Loz's example of Jockeys purging is an extreme example, but presumably a similar principle?

Particularly if you are very overweight, you can lose a lot at the start of a diet due to water loss, particularly if you cut carbohydrates.


Good in a way because it can motivate you to stay on the diet, but that level of loss won't continue, and would soon go back on if you went back to your former eating pattern.
