Seeing as the Al Yamamah investigation was stopped 'for reasons of security' it doesn't take much of a leap of imagination to think that labour would have suppressed the story had this legislation been in place.

And this is cross party, so I can't even blame labour.

God I hope this goes no further.

Don?t worry we know what you mean.

As an aside though you have just highlighted the very reason why I am always so outspoken, fanatical even about civil liberties. It?s because I grew up in a country where they were restricted. Even when I was in primary school it pissed me off.

A favourite line in Dead Set last week was when the producer of Big Brother shouted at someone and was told to treat people properly, he barked "yeah alright Shami Chakrabarti..." - it just reflected how many people hold civil liberties in low regard

There is a a lot of consent being manufactured in recent years it has to be said - so no surprise to hear I'm with Brendan, Piers et al on this one...

There's never a precision-guided stealth bomb handy when you need one, is there?

It?s like they don?t give a shit, they do whatever they like, but, somehow, they know everyone will love it.

It could be with an envious eye that an outsider might look upon this charmed gang, not only talented and connected, but assisted and enabled by a company of similarly talented and connected friends. Bistrotheque is their Algonquin...

Grand looned around in her Balenciaga dress, Vuitton shoes and her prize, a big hairy wolf mask. They may be stars now, but they still roll in the old East End style.

    • No they were created by a Hong Kong artist and became a craze when a K-Pop girl band became associated with them. They do limited editions and they've become a collectors item (Like Jelicat for adults)- I'm a bit ashamed that at 65 years old I know so much about them but they are very much a fashionable item. And I'm always interested in Popular Culture. Whover lost it must be gutted because I understand that when you buy one (they're boxed) you never know which one or what colour you'll get...so if the owner loved that one it may be very difficult to replace.
    • Are they a hybrid of teletubby and some other species?
    • Thats a Labubu. I suspect it was lost by a trend-following adult who had it hanging from their handbag. They're a real fashion trend at the moment and people collect them. I hate them they give me the creeps!
