Tesco and Sainsbury's meat is not the best to say the very least. I dont eat much meat but find Morrisons and ASDA better.

Foxy

Iceland... I stand by my opinion that they specialise in revolting, nasty, processed rubbish

I agree that their prepared foods were never to my taste - but as you also note 'and do sell some actual proper food too' their e.g. frozen unprocessed foods (and the other branded goods they sold) were entirely acceptable, good value and consistent quality.

I'm not into ready meals at all , I buy fresh from Ocado/Waitrose plus Fruit/Vegs Box schemes .

Co-Op to me is rank . I don't like any of their food from the fresh produces to the packaged stuff . I've always wondered how they stay in business but as they are the 'main' supermarket on the Lane most of us end up in Co-Op regardless .

I have popped in M&S twice , and I have found the food to be really tasty which was a pleasant surprise . I'd happily pay more to eat their products if it's a choice between them or Co-Op. It's a great stop gap for me inbetween my Ocado deliveries .

If only Waitrose would buy out Co-Op.......

This made me laugh !😃 You are right .... Who cares ?!

I feel the same way about dog grooming, so, horses for courses ain't it Toffee

So pleased M&S has opened a great new addition to the Lane.

Regarding the childish spats going on ...................Yawn...... am I missing the point ?

The Lane is thriving and its a wonderful area to live.

Apologies to the normal EDF pessimists for being so positive and upbeat

For goodness sake, get a grip. Please stop being so nasty to me. I merely voiced an opinion, that's what a forum is about. I truly hope that I dont come across as being nasty or vindictive. If I do, I would like to apologise to everyone. Sometimes its good to have a good old fashioned banter. We all need, including me, especially me, not to take things personally. I just want to join conversations/debates. Please everyone, lets be civil to each other. Life is too short not be. Xx

Not really childish. A trivial amount of effort to view someone's posting history, to illustrate the point (which should be obvious) that different people like to discuss different things...

Don't worry Toffee.. I told ???? to stop the anti foxy trolling..

looks like he/she has found someone else to bully.

People with nothing helpful / interesting to say do this kind of thing.

Jeremy if brown sauce is your thing, M&S do a black IPA version which is bloody excellent.

In fact their own brand range of condiments is varied and interesting. I've tried (and liked)smoked ketchup & (posh)hotdog relish.

PS If ever a thread needed Sean this is it!

Never tried it - thanks. Looks like it's made with the same beer I mentioned. Smoked ketchup sounds nice too.

I popped in again today.

It isn't as good as the Beckenham store on reflection. Staff not quite as clued up (yet) and stock levels low. Also, the range isn't anywhere near as good. Disappointing freezer section too and no deli counter. But then, Beckenham is naturally posh, and ED is, well.. I don't have to spell it out. It's ok. Nothing spectacular though. Some good wines.

A lidl to replace co-op would be the ideal situation now. We don't need bloody Waitrose AND M&S. This is a dump that's been given a makeover, it's not Chelsea FFS.
