My husband went to Sainsburys this morning and there was no Aptamil First on the shelves. He asked and was advised it was sent back to the manufacturer for a recall but had no further information. Has anyone heard anything about this? I can not find anything on the internet. The Aptamil First Ready To Use 200 ml carton has been removed from the Sainsburys website but the powder is still available and both powder and ready to use are available at Waitrose and Tesco. Any advice would be appreciated.

hello,

I checked the Aptamil website and saw the follwing http://www.aptamil.co.uk/en/article.asp?chco_id=2729. This may be a reason why Sainsburys removed it from their shelves? I have also contacted Sainsburys, but as it's as it's a sunday, I may have to wait till tomorrow for a response. I will keep you posted.

Hello,

This is the response I got from Sainsburys

'Thanks for your email about the recall of Aptimil first milk.

This product recall is only affecting the batch of stock that was sent to Sainsbury's. The manufacturers contacted us and only informed us that there was a quality issue with the stock. They would not give us any more information. For precautionary measures, Sainsbury's removed the stock from the shelves until we get more information from our suppliers.'

... think I shall contact Aptamil to ask them why that batch of stock was removed, I'll let you know their response. X

    • Seriously though, I hope nobody was harmed in the making of that, because they must have veered right across the road before crashing, and only just avoided the tree. They must have been going pretty fast. Asleep at the wheel? Medical issue? Drunk? Young or stupid people messing about with a stolen car? (Apologies to young people, I know most of you aren't reckless). It was lucky they didn't hit something going in the opposite direction ( at least, I assume/hope they didn't) before they went over the wall. But I'm confused, because the broken part of the wall is in front of the car. Did they reverse in an attempt to get the car off the wall, and then made things worse? 😮
    • Oh, so that's what 'off street parking' means.
    • Let's hope no more of them disappear 😥 I don't know whether geese have a second brood later on? It seems very early in the year for goslings, but I haven't yet googled to find out more.
