Loz
I recommend Fred. He'd never failed me yet. He's probably the greatest whatever-you-are-looking-for ever. (I'm not Fred. Honest. No really. Just because this is only my third post, and all of them have over-enthusiastically recommended Fred doesn't mean anything.)Frederick's MumHa! That'll fool them. Huggers
I've just had the best thing ever, a dark chocolate Florentine from Ayres the Bakers. Actually, I only had half as at two quid a shot I've had to share it. Bob Buzzard
Sorry I forgot to say what I needed to do - there is a door to a room upstairs in my house that sometimes opens but other times won't budge - I presume the wood must be swelling or something. What should I do? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/100940-can-anyone-recommend-something/#findComment-982643 Share on other sites

TheArtfulDogger
Knock three times on the ceiling if you love her, twice on the pipe if the answer is no ! Louisa
I would advise investing in a decent chippy to come over and make you a new frame. It could also be that the floor underneath has shifted which will of course cause the frame and consequently door to not sit correctly. Louisa. Bob Buzzard
I was thinking to get a new one from B&Q to replace the old Victorian one - should I do that? Will it affect the house value? Bob Buzzard
I replaced the old pine Victorian 4-panel door with a white B&Q door, but it still seems to be getting stuck intermittently - do I need to do something with the frame or the surrounding architrave? My wife says I shouldn't worry about it. Robert Poste's Child
Surprising that no one has suggested the obvious supernatural cause: the room is clearly possessed by a demonic entity bent on stirring up trouble. You could try an exorcism. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/100940-can-anyone-recommend-something/#findComment-1068247 Share on other sites
Bob Buzzard
Oh dear, that seems a bit extreme - I'm sure it must be a physical problem, not a spiritual problem. TheArtfulDogger
Bob Just to play along with your insane threadsIs it the bathroom door that's getting stuck? Does it occur when your builder has popped back to realign the plumbing for your wife or when she needs a good plunging to make sure there aren't any blockages hindering passage of fluids ? It may well be that you are banging against the wrong cause and you should just move out, become a lumberjack or something and let your wife have her bath time pleasure once the plumber has sorted out things to her satisfaction 😅 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/100940-can-anyone-recommend-something/#findComment-1068303 Share on other sites
