kristymac1
Hi,It's a long shot but I've been let down by an online order for photograph icing for my daughter's birthday cake - does anyone know where I can get it done TODAY? Party tomorrow and stupidly have held out for the order to be delivered in time but not looking likely now. Any pointers, much appreciatedThanks x Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/10090-photograph-icing-urgent/ Share on other sites
kristymac1
Have tried sainsburys, tesco and morrisons but no joy - don't mind driving out a bit if anyone knows of a life-saving bakery... Mrs TP
ASDA on the Old Kent Road did it in the past but I have not been for some time - worth giving them a ring. ludoscotts
wont be the same I know but how about just putting a photograph on to the cake then piping some icing around the edges to cover the join. Will look good for photos and the blowing out of the candles moment then before you cut the cake just lift it off. kristymac1
Hiya,Thanks for the posts - am trying to get through to ASDA before schlepping up there. Ludoscotts - good idea and if it was just one cake I'd definitely go with it - but its a cupcake 'tree' and each cake has a photo of her friends on - not sure if I have the patience to do all of them...... HoHum it may just be the cupcakes (and I have no doubt the kids won't notice a thing so why am I worrying???) x Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/10090-photograph-icing-urgent/#findComment-298900 Share on other sites
kristymac1
Hooray - they've just been delivered, talk about 11th hour!!I finally got through to ASDA and they do still do it but only on one big cake (and you have to purchace the cake there too).x Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/10090-photograph-icing-urgent/#findComment-298905 Share on other sites

The Nappy Lady
Sounds lovely, hope the girls enjoy (ed?) them.It is great fun doing the parties isn't it. We did a massive pirate party last year, even the adults dressed up and we did pirate themed games too. We were totallyexhausted by the end of it, but it was great fun.Dazie, sorry to hear you had such an unhappy childhood so it seems. You seem to lurk and only post to criticise others (as on the valentines thread). What a shame.Molly Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/10090-photograph-icing-urgent/#findComment-299019 Share on other sites

Ann
But out of interest Kristymac1, Would you mind giving us a 'ballpark' idea of how much a cake like that costs? It sounds lovely but my children were born before the digital age so I really wouldn't know.Glad it turned up, hope the party went well. kristymac1
Hi Ann,It's not too bad I'd say - I had 24 individual photographs put onto icing and it was ?14 including postage - I make the cupcakes myself so just the cost of ingredients there (so maybe ?18 for the whole thing?). If you want to do just one photo - the very helpful lady at ASDA told me the cakes start at ?8 and they mount the photo onto the cake for you. The website I used for the icing was crazycakes.co.uk.Party's tomorrow, should be lots of fun..... xx Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/10090-photograph-icing-urgent/#findComment-299052 Share on other sites
katyc
Have to say the photos looked fab and all the kids loved having their own photo on their cake! Very restrained posting for you too K!
