Re: Public dartboards?

Both The Castle and the White Horse in Peckham used to have pool (?) tables, don't know if they still have.

Re: Sunday Lunch

I have only just noticed that the original post was from 2006, so the Sunday lunch get together for ten people was SIXTEEN YEARS AGO 🤣

How (and why?) has somebody resurrected a sixteen year old post?!

Re: Sunday Lunch

My partner, niece and I had an absolutely fantastic Sunday lunch at Franklins the weekend before last. https://www.franklinsrestaurant.com/ She had roast beef and we had a cauliflower dish that sounds a bit boring but had me practically licking the plate it was so delicious. Hers was so much she cou...

TD wrote: 15 Aug 2022, 11:35 I've got quite a lot of pots accumulated in my garden. I've tried to give them away but there's still alot left. Is there somewhere that will take them and reuse or recycle them?
You could try the community garden in Brockwell Park? They sell some of their plants in pots, to raise funds.

FREE (obv!) Glass jars with lids

Before I recycle them, would anybody like 25 glass jars with lids, assorted sizes, for jam or chutney making?

Re: clothing bank

the two clothing banks beside the mini-supermarket at the junction of Upland Road and Hindmans Road have disappeared. I'm not surprised. I once saw two women pulling stuff out of them and just leaving it on the pavement (presumably after taking what they wanted). I take clothes which aren't good en...

Help needed with website

Is there anyone out there who can advise on a website issue? I already couldn't edit it but now it seems to have been hacked, and internal links are going to places I'd rather they didn't, to put it mildly 😭 Please PM me if you can help or know someone who can, thanks. I was already looking to start...

Hope your pain goes away soon, Foxy.

I had no idea there was a shingles vaccine! I had chicken pox twice when I was a kid, so I will investigate.

Re: Private messaging

The website looks different when you are viewing it in a mobile verses a desktop. That is intentional. The mobile view is a slightly cut down version of the desktop and more optimised for a small screen and navigating with your fingers. The "Last Poster Name" and "Latest Post" b...

My post disappeared 😶

I had just previewed a post I had written in the Trades section (about a delicious meal I had yesterday), went to add something on the end of it, and the whole thing disappeared 🙄 I was completely unable to get it back. Had I been on my laptop I might have tried control Z, but I was on my mobile. Tr...

Re: Private messaging

Also it seems to default to the first post of what may be a very long thread, rather than to the most recent post. That's because you've clicked on the thread title, which also happened with the old system. If you click on the little grey icon to the right of the latest poster's name that will take...

Re: Private messaging

Me too, I've noticed PM's seem to stay in 'Outbox' for several minutes before being sent. I've lost all my stored messages since the new format. It's so much more complicated this new system. I know we are creatures of habit and find change challenging (some more than others) but it's overcomplicat...

Re: Luca's -- Please pay upfront.

I think perhaps the problem is the way it is communicated, rather than the policy itself re paying upfront, which seems completely fair. I also found the tone of some of the statements on the menu to be rather off-putting. I'm sure Luca's don't mean it to come across in this way, but I was quite tak...

TFL no longer deal with lost cards. They told me to bin it 😮

I will keep it for a while on the off chance somebody recognised the name. It's an 11-15 photo card.

I have also posted on Facebook, but can anybody suggest anywhere else I could try?

Re: Avoid these plumbers at all cost

You could report them to the trading standards (?) department at the council.

Their general approach does not sound acceptable at all, quite apart from the actual charge.

Any call out charge should have been told to you upfront when you phoned them.
