PippaD replied to lydiacgood's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Hi, we were selling at dulwich hamlet today. Don't know what it's like if weather is dull but was very good today. Friendly staff and easy access. Good luck, hubby says he's doing it again next week, expect he'll start rummaging in the loft this week! -

Is it usual for childminder to bill
PippaD replied to Newmother's topic in The Family Room Discussion
As a childminder, it is usual to be paid bank holidays and so many weeks paid annual holiday (usually 4 weeks) throughout the year. The only time you won't pay is during anytime the childminder is sick. Yes we are self employed but all holidays should be discussed during the contract signing period Hope that helps and good luck -
I'm a dog owner and this not only annoys me but my young boys on the school run as well "Mummy why don't the owners get the free bags from the library like us and pick up the poo?" Can only explain that not everyone carries bags like we do!! I believe if you can afford the dog then clean up after it, my other half takes a torch out at night so if the dog has a poo on the grass, he can find it in the dark, dedicated he is!! C'mon dog owners, we goodies are being tarnished by you not so goodies!! Please be responsible and also put poop bags in bins and not by trees or people's gates Rant over!!!

I am writing to defend myself and the toddler group today was indeed our christmas party, a ticketed event. Anyone who as ever been to our group knows we are NON PROFIT and have limited nuber of spaces. Our fees cover the hiring of the hall and consumables. Leecass, I did ask you, along with another parent, to wait in the lobby until all the people with tickets were registered and I could check numbers. It just so happens there was space and the parent got in, as would have you however, you had already left!! I am sorry that both your child and you were upset, and that is never our intention but sometimes we do have to turn people away as, if we go over our numbers, we can be asked to leave due to fire regulations I think it is unfair off you to paint us as such a un christmas group whilst we were holding our FREE xmas party I hope this doesn't put you off trying us again when we come back in January. Please do be aware we will still have limited numbers and it works on a first come first in basis, no saved places. Merry christmas

Asthma diagnosis in young babies?
PippaD replied to midivydale's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hey huni, hope lil one is feeling better. My youngest went thru something similar when he was 16 months. A bad chest infection which returned so steroids were given and nebulisers, from that we were referred to the children's asthma clinic at kings. He Was diagnosed with childhood asthma, which children are prone to grow out of around 5 years of age We were given inhalers and have had quite a few episodes over last 3 1/2 years but (saying this while touching wood and fingers crossed!!) we haven't had any need for any inhalers since feb this year. I'd just take things as they come huni, and if in any doubt call ambulance, they are fantastic at rapid response and have nebulisers for a quicker treatment Sorry to ramble, hope it made sense and has helped. -

Mum says she's seen pheasants up at ruskin park. Maybe like the parakeets of goose green, they've bred and settled?

I have to laugh :)) I would think that now the Papa Johns trailer (the original reason for this thread)has moved, that this discussion would be put to rest. But, NO!!::o It continues in one way or another along different lines, how fast food is ruining dulwich, bikes ruining pavements (when the cars have been parking outside dry cleaners and barbers for years:-S) Having lived here all my life, from a child to an adult, I do think that we need to worry about far more important issues, which I wont mention as it will only continue this discussion further I will say that no-one had issues with the dirty big skips while all the shops were getting kitted out, and all the vehicles that were parked on the paving stones then!! Ok after following this post since it started, that is MY rant over (I'm sure I will be recieve some constructive criticism later:))) P.s. Must say all of my family (age 4 to 63) find Papa Johns Pizzas to be very tasty!!>:D<

I know this a real long shot but..... While at the Hornimans museum today, my youngest left his sunglasses somewhere in the mens room by the cafe:'(. We noticed they were missing within 5 mins but after checking, they were nowhere to be found(6). Normally these could be replaced but, youngest has quite a small head and these actually stayed on without bending to near breaking point;-). They are black, small and cheap but I can not for the life of me remmember where we purchased them:-$. If you found them and handed them in please let me know Thanx for your help (tu) P x

What on earth is that black smoke over ED??
PippaD replied to MsDarkwood's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Was scary to see all that smoke and hope the reports that no one was hurt are true. There was still fire brigade investigators down there after 5, as well as police, as we drove back home from sainsburys. -
