  1. Hi all Sorry to miss the last meet up yet again. I have been hopeless. I will definitely come to the next one on 3 November. Re daytime meet ups - I am off work with my son this week so I would love a day time meet up. However, we are doing "settling in" at nursery, so mornings won't be great for us this week - an afternoon meet up will be easier (although you never know, he may love it and I can come for coffee on Tuesday/Wednesday morning baby free!). Sara - I couldn't open your attachment. Lindsay
  2. Boiled sweets for energy and lots to drink. I brought my breastfeeding pillow which was really useful afterwards.
  3. Try a miracle blanket - its amazing. I was given another swaddle type thing and it was useless but this one really did work.
  4. Hi all Tonight, I have to visit my Grandma who has just been taken to hospital, bake a cake for my son's 2nd birthday tomorrow and to top it all off I have just been stung by a bee on my hand which now rather ressembles a small boxing glove. So I won't be able to join tonight although am desperate for a nice (small) glass of wine! See you next Tues. L
  5. Thanks all - for some reason I thought they all folded with the second seat on... so I think its just the vibe and verve then? I am so stressed re the double buggy decision - I had planned to do what you said echo and sling with a single buggy for the first year, but I found carrying my little one really hard on my back last time so I can't see its going to be easier with a toddler to push!
  6. Just to add, I want a tandem but am not 100% wedded to a Phil & Teds - BUT - I want a buggy which will fold up in one piece. I haven't got space for storing 2 separate seats/frames etc and I am not sure that any of the other tandems do this.
  7. Hi all Although I have seen the thread explaining why not to buy a Phil & Teds, I think I am going to buy one anyway as I think its the best solution for me. I am going to try and get one second hand. I am bewildered however at the range of Phil & Teds out there e.g. Verve, Vibe, Explorer, Sport etc. I have looked at comparison websites and the Phil & Ted website and I am still confused. Would EDF Phil & Teds owners (who like their buggies) be able to tell me which one they have and whether they rate it. Many thanks Lindsay
  8. Hi all Just to say I won't be able to make tomorrow, so I am liking the plans for more frequent meet-ups as it would be good to meet you. I also have the half term week off(commencing 24 October) so would be up for meeting during that week with my son if there are any plans to do so. L
  9. Hi Just to say that I find the cafe amazing for my toddler because there is so much room for the kids to run about and the staff don't seem to mind the chaos. Never had problems with service either but to be honest I have only eaten there a few times - its usually just a coffee before heading into the park. L
  10. Hi all Apologies for missing you on 25th. I am not sure I will be able to make 27th September either but hope to join a meet up in October! Re veryseriousgirl's post, I did yoga at Kings in my last pregnancy and its fine - very restful. Also for all those liking to keep a bit more active in pregnancy I would really recommend Orianne's pregnant legs, bums and tums class at JAGS gym (its part low impact aerobics, part body conditioning and a bit of the all important pelvic floor). Its on Sunday evenings at 6.30pm. I did it until I was 39 weeks last time (started contractions on the way to class!) and it definitely helped in my very long labour. L
  11. Hi I am going to try and make it to G&B too. Look forward to meeting you all. Lindsay
  12. Hi I am expecting my second child in December when my son will be 27 months and was looking for advice from second time Mums. I am currently trying to work out the most efficient way to do the double buggy thing. I currently have a Bugaboo Cameleon which has worked well. What I am thinking of however is selling the Cameleon and buying a Bee on the basis that I can use it for both the new baby (toddler on buggy board) and the toddler (carrying baby in a sling). I would then buy a very cheap second hand Phil & Teds (anyone selling?!) for longer trips with both children. I am working on the assumption that my son will be mainly walking as he gets closer to 2 1/2 so the Bee will be the main buggy. Is this too ambitious? Or should I just bite the bullet and admit defeat and get a double buggy as my main buggy and not bother with the Bee? Also has anyone got a Mountain Buggy Duet and is it as good as it seems? L
  13. Hi I had the same thing with my baby - watery, mucousy, seedy and greeny poo - usually all at the same time, plus lots of vomitting and indigestion. Very worrying for me though the HV never got particularly worried about it. I think the problem was too much foremilk as well. L
  14. Oh yes - this would be for your family only as its only 2 bedrooms, but I would recommend the area if you want something bigger.
  15. Last year we stayed at Casu Blu with Solo Sicily. Its not in a village but a 5 minute drive to the lovely Scopello and the Zingaro nature Reserve (dodgy road from road to villa should have been surfaced by now). I loved Western Sicilly and would go again. The villa is simple but has a pool and lovely sea views.
  16. Hi all Mothercourage - I must have seen you at Legs Bums and Tums yesterday as there were only two of us! Pickle and others - If you are talking of a possible Friday afternoon meet up, I would be keen. Although not this week (4th). X Lindsay
  17. I am Elm Lodge Surgery too and have been all my life on and off! They take me and I live in SE22 so I am sure they will take you if you live in the Village. I second Lochie that they are a lovely surgery.
  18. Yes please, I would be very interested. L
  19. Hi I would love to meet up at some point - but I work part time at the moment so only on Fridays. L PS. Bee - 7-8 weeks off sounds amazing!
  20. Hi there I am also expecting my second baby, due date the end of December when my son will be 2 and a bit. Looking forward to meeting other Mum's in this situation - how exactly do you cope with two?! L
