  1. There appears to be a new shop/business opening on north cross road, in the premises that used to have all the art shows. Does snyone know what it is?

  3. More pics/clearer pics: BTW - I don't think it is a chamomile type - the leave shape is more like a spinach shape leaf than feathery.
  4. Sorry for it being a bit blurry. The stems are long and thin, and the flowers are small with pointed/triangular white petal and a raised yellow centre.
  5. Anything by Kathy Lette. URGH!
  6. I too would be interested in the clay pots!
  7. What is "dry hedge technique"?

Yes I have a big garden by ED standards - it pretty much doubled the size of my garden. My garden is L-shaped btw - so instead of having 3 gardens adjoining me, I now have 6. As for the valuation - i am related to an estate agent on LL, I asked his advice. He told us that it was quite a tricky one to estimate as in his opinion, the transfer of land would knock more off the value of our neighbour's house than it would add to ours. All of the sums he mentioned were a lot lower than what is mentioned further up this table. We bought the land specifically to garden in, and our deeds forbid building, and there is no access to the road from the new bit - so I can't see that there is a development potential, btw.
  9. Hmm. I bought a section of my neighbour's garden about 2 years ago. It is about 60 ft by 90 ft (the bit i bought). I paid a lot less than Dr Soto's formula might suggest.

  11. Error in your blogpost - should be 'South East London" rather than "South West London".
  12. People saying "gamechanger" is massively getting on my wick at the moment.
  13. a proper garden centre along the lines of the one that recently shut (down by the station).

I am in no way a fan of the royals but I don't think as many people actively resented her getting a ceremonial funeral. (I'm finding it really hard not to say "State funeral" - because if it's paid for by the state wtf wouldn't you call it one?)

As for the gender issue - you might also cite they were different religions, or y'know being completely different people. All i am saying is the basis for this ceremonial funeral is that Thatcher was re-elected more than once, and she was PM during a time of conflict/wartime. Surely this is the case for Blair.

  17. Loz - like it did with MT?!
  18. Given that TB seems to meet the same criteria as MT...do you think this means he will get a state funeral? I can't imagine that any govt would want to get embroiled in the same furore that's erupted over the last week or so.
