  2. Are people sure its closed down??? My impression was that they were doing renovations. I think there is a sign up about carrying out repairs to the floor and ceiling.

  12. Small aside...you don't necessarily need an oyster card for the bus these days. They take contact less payment from UK debit cards.
  13. "Let's be perfectly clear..." Also, anyone using the word "curated", outside of a museum or art gallery context. Bleurgh!
  14. It's also in Barry's on Barry road.
  15. Or offer it on here - someone will definitely have it. I did this a few years ago, and got several requests for it.
  16. Not sure whereabouts in SE22 you are, but i think there is some kind of food bank operation on Barry Rd opposite Barry Stores.
  17. Where is this place?

There is a launderette by the Magdala pub (is it still called that) on the corner of Pellat Rd and Lordship Lane. PS - Apologies to P68 for accidentally sending a private message to relay this info.

Gee I sound like a coffee snob I have my Aussie SIL (from Melbourne) staying with me at the moment. Every morning she goes down to Boulangerie jade and has a coffee there. Her take on the situation is that London has improved massively over the last few years (coffee wise), and some places are great and others are not. One odd thing she has mentioned though, is that frequently she has to send coffee back in Melbourne because it's a bit lukewarm.
  21. I like this http://www.nigella.com/recipes/view/banana-bread-142
  22. Cazzyr, I think the crossing spot you are referring to is not the same as the OP. The OP mentioned a zebra crossing. It's definitely quite a scary road to cross.
  23. People saying, "true dat" in a stupid voice. ARGH! Please stop.
