My apologies if some of my views have offended anybody, but I?m fed up with the comments being posted aimed at ones self, with the expectance of me putting up with them ? I didn?t send myself to Dulwich College, but am proud to say that I am an OA and nobody will ever change my view.

From the unbelievably childish and immature comments posted, I guess it?s a waste of time pursuing matters further, although I would like to say the following.. Thanks to wikipedia, I have discovered the meaning of the past thread. If you are accusing me of being a ?spoilt kid?, you could not be any further from the truth. Although you may find it hard to believe, I was brought up on an ex council estate in Peckham. My parents made the decision to send me to public school, as the local state schools were of a poor standard. From making that decision, they sacrificed some of the ?normal? things in life (eg: yearly holidays etc..). I am not asking for sympathy, nor am I asking for praise ? but if my parents decided to spend the money they work for on my education, I cannot see why that should interfere with anybody else. If you choose to spend your income on the luxury?s of life, then good for you - I would have no right in objecting. Unless you actually bothered to see past your thoughts, you may notice that Dulwich is not full of rich, spoilt kids ? I am the first to admit that the occasional few are from a wealthy background, although I?m sure the same could be said when based on a state school ? but the majority are ?normal?. I am still not 100% sure why you have a problem with public schools, and/or the pupils, but if you decide to grow up a little and explain, then I would be interested to read on.

Having read your comment, I felt somewhat annoyed at your arrogance towards private education. Up until last year, I was a pupil at Dulwich College, but was definitely not a ?spoilt kid?. As said in the above post, if you have such strong feelings regarding Dulwich College and/or public schools, why did you spend time reading and commenting? Out of interest, what is your problem towards people paying for a better education for their child, if they choose to do so? Referring mainly to the comments made by Alan Dale, is there a reason for the slightly negative approach? Are you unable to feel somewhat proud of there being two players linked with the local area? Having been a pupil at Dulwich College up until last year, I know that football has only been taken seriously at the school within the past couple of years (introduced as a lesson with teams formed to represent the school), previous to this, the schools main sport was rugby. This is probably the main reason why none of the well known footballers attended the school. This being said, you may find that within a few years, there could be a number of ex-pupils playing football for major teams. Maybe I have misunderstood a number of the comments posted throughout this thread, but in my opinion, the overall feeling has been more negative than positive. This is annoying as although Dulwich is a private school, I feel it does not make much of a difference in this instance. If the school has helped produce two excellent rugby players, so be it.. don?t put the school down! Would similar comments been posted if the two players attended Kingsdale?

Hi Everyone. Don't forget its Founders Day at Dulwich College tomorrow (Saturday).. It?s usually quite a good day especially with the concert in the evening along with the fireworks towards the end. If you've got time to spare, I would recommend it! (Sorry I know its not exactly East Dulwich, but still thought it was worth mentioning!)

I?m guessing (from your comment) its possible to prepare food from a separate location and then reheat it at an A1 premises (is this correct?) Is that as much as you can do in an A1 premises (as far as preparing food goes)? Is there a way of converting an A1 premises to allow food preparation? (sorry for all the questions) I suppose this could work (being able to prepare food within the premises would be useful, but I wouldn't totally dismiss this idea). Thank you once again! Thomas.

Hi Everyone. Following from my previous thread, I am looking into setting up a healthy/organic (and possibly vegetarian) restaurant/takeaway in the area. I was just wondering - does anybody know of any empty premises in East Dulwich (or surrounding areas) available to rent? It would be great to find somewhere which is already suited to a restaurant/takeaway but if not, I am willing to convert it (if it is possible/allowed). I am interested in all premises types including restaurants (with seating), takeaways or kitchen units suitable for delivery only. I have already had a look on the Hindwood Hunter Payne website, but didn?t find many results within the area. I truly appreciate all comments I receive from this post! Kind Regards. Thomas.
