  4. Nope You don't have to whisper it, we all know it's there...but we all like to buy good quality stuff from various places, and then....wait for it...cook it ourselves!
  5. Mrs TP Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Floella is major league and one of cats is named > after her! :)-D She's brilliant - and, she was my younger brother's first crush. It was the yellow boiler suit, I think.

  7. I heard her being interviewed on Radio 4 a couple of years ago and aside from being a Dulwich gal, (by way of Trinidad & Tobagao) she's an extremely well-accomplished woman. Chairman of BAFTA, VP of the Royal Commonwealth Society and a Liberal Democrat Life Peer to name but a few (but I won't hold that against her!) Not sure when Big Ted was a big sports name.

  10. Defy anyone not to love John Tavener - The Lamb. I know it's not Baroque, but it's bloody gorgeous.
  11. Eyes Wide Open - Gotye
  12. I saw Nige perform that at The Barbican it was amazing.
  13. I've heard M&S do a good 'simply pasta'

East Dulwich was never a chavtown, Gavain. I object to M&S because they do not meet my high standards and that the shop is the number one choice for 'don't know any betters'. Well said! :)-D
  15. She Stoops to Conquer @ The National was excellent - Sophie Thompson / Steve Pemberton as Mr and Mrs Hardcastle. Had no idea there would be 'names' in the production, not a swinger for me but an added bonus....very very funny.

If some kind soul wants to give someone down on their luck a little cash, what business is it of yours what they spend it on? Maybe they bought a cup of tea...I don't know of any charity that trawl the nooks and crannies to actively find homeless people...No one tells you how to spend your money.
  17. Are you referring to me jimmyay? I'm neither a moaner, nor an inverted snob. I have no problem with people having money - what I do have a problem with is people applauding the arrival of a 'High Street' shop replacing another high street shop which sells, basically, convenience food. That's what we already have. We also have lots of other great retailers which offer good bread, meat and veg. If it's high street you want, go to Bromley! Personally, I prefer the feel of a neighbourhood full of the 'butcher, baker, candle-stick maker' type shops. Individuality. I have been here all my life, and I totally understand the need for retailers to reflect the changing demographic but M&S doth not a community make. Once Starbucks/Nerro moved in it all went downhill. (Star bucks=universal cash. And SHITE coffee)

As well as giving us locals more > choice. I'm over the moon about these proposals! What utter nonsense! 'Anchor the High Street' - eh?? 'more choice'...of what? - over-priced packet food? Go to Bromley - they have a massive M&S in very big 'anchored' high street.
