  1. Hmmmmm - underpinning sometimes causes more problems than it solves, depending how it is done. Fixing (i.e. stopping the movement to some extent) of one house in a row can cause it to move away from the non underpinned others and cause more probs all around than if not done at all. You need a view from a surveyor (and I'm not one!!) who knows the area and takes a view on anything that may cause damaging ground movement local to your proposed flat given the particular underpinning treatment - e.g. trees and concrete driveways have a surprising impact IMHO
  2. Posting in a bad mood - our car that lives outside had its bumper pushed in (it is plastic) by someone unknown about 6/7 months ago - so while said car was off for MOT last week I accepted a kind offer from our long suffering garage bod to sort it out - took bumper off pushed it out and re-sprayed it. So I'm sitting here working away @ 222 hrs or so and hearing a car pull up outside think it is my SO coming home and look out to see some b----r do a three point turn in the road, hit the front of our car in the same place again and park in the space adjacent - and walk off despite what I assume were his passengers having seen me looking. Is this called the Peckham Kiss or what?
  3. Bear in mind full males, and I assume he is a full male and not neutered, wander far and wide. We now have half ownership of a cat we call Buster, who used to visit us as be a full male and "sing" to our neutered female - hope springs eternal presumably - before he came to us one day last year injured, and was repaired and neutered by the RSPCA before being chipped and returned to us - and now we see him once every three months or so - once a wandering tom always a wandering tom I'm afraid. So one other suggestion is the local Cats Protection league - they may help to trap and neuter a full male who is causing issues - PM me for contact details if you wish - do not really want to post them here
  4. Thanks - I'd missed that somehow - off we go!
  5. At very short notice, I've been asked to drive to St Pancras Eurostar early tomorrow am to collect visitors - does anyone know if there is a short stay parking space for collections and if so where? Or is it best to park in hte local NCP and walk down? Thanks all!
  6. Anyone else in the traffic jam this avo (2:30pm ish) when a bendy bus could not get around the Goose Green Roundabout coming from Grove Vale and exiting into Lordship Lane and hit the brickwork on the centre island? Presume it was the road works that reduced his room for manoeuvre
