  1. Yes, so if you're in a Green Bay, which are areas that have large areas of pavements or an existing bay, such as the Barry Road/Underhill Road Scooter Bay, the rider is charged 50p rather than £2 to park there. I have no idea of whether this is part of Southwark's grand plan, but I know from experience that the Lime bikes are heavily in demand here. I can park a Lime bike and it's gone sometimes minutes after parking outside my flat. HumanForest I believe are one of the micromobility companies that have permission from the council to leave bikes within the borough, the fact they're allowed to leave bikes on the Lordship Lane Estate shows they also have a relationship with the Housing dept. (I think there's another one on the Kingswood Estate too) Surprisingly there isn't a Green Bay to serve the LL shopping area, but there is one on the corner of DKH and Quorn Road to serve East Dulwich Station and Sainsbury's along with the residential area green bays scattered across SE21 and SE22.
  2. HumanForest have added more Green Bays where riders can park for 50p rather than £2. New bays include the corner of Landells Road and Lordship Lane, Wood Vale with the junction of Lordship Lane, Peckham Rye with the junction of St Aidan's Road, Barry Road/Underhill Road junction which was already being used by Lime/Dott scooters, Dulwich Common/Alleyn Park, Hunts Slip Road, Dulwich Common opposite the Dulwich College Sports Club and the Lordship Lane Estate opposite McLeod Court. HumanForest riders will also be able to use their bikes in the London Borough of Lewisham shortly.
  3. Wrong thread.
  4. Where I finally agree with malumbu on something is cycling standards. The amount of jumping lights at junctions is ridiculous along with the arrogance that they don't have to comply with the Highway Code. I'll wait at the Dulwich Library crossroads and everytime I wait at the box junction for bikes, you'll see other cyclists jumping red lights while I'm left with petrol vehicles including mopeds and scooters.

  6. If it was this morning or around lunchtime, it may have been due to the protest on the corner of Whateley/CP Road.
  7. Labour have reinstated Neil Coyle after he's been suspended for 5 days next week for drunken incidents including racist remarks to a journalist of Chinese descent. What is it with Labour continually supporting bad MPs who happen to support their faction? Corbyn did it with his far-left cranks and now Starmer allows Coyle back in the fold for his appalling behaviour while Rosie Duffield's rather out of touch "sex-first" comments and hanging around with dubious people from the Gender Critical movement has seen her keep the whip because her and Coyle are part of the same faction of Labour.
  8. An impartial report from ITV News about the Honor Oak protest.
  9. There's still two Iceland stores within a couple of minutes drive away, one in Camberwell Road and the other in Walworth Road.
  10. Regarding postal meds, I tried pharmacy4u, but with the erratic post I was more anxious that they wouldn't be delivered in time, so went back to using an actual pharmacy.
  11. There's also a 4 screen cinema opening at the Ladywell Playtower next year.
  12. It's been like that since the pandemic. Constant staff shortages, the reduction in opening hours (sometimes closing at 3pm so the pharmacist can collect their kids from school) and an inability to order drugs in time despite having an electronic prescription sent to them days before. The company itself isn't doing well and is now undergoing a strategic review of the whole business. https://www.lbc.co.uk/news/lloyds-pharmacy-1-300-branches-risk-closure/#:~:text=Lloyds%20Pharmacy%20already%20announced%20the%20closure%20of%20237,following%20a%20review%20which%20blamed%20%E2%80%9Cchanging%20market%20conditions%E2%80%9D.

  16. Now officially confirmed that ED Poundland will open on the 18th. https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/whats-on/shopping/poundland-opening-mega-stores-march-26401094?fbclid=IwAR1qHjyHxBlj2Vt1q9AmG6MTWi9foJseXDtmb3PW4_-biCM4TIAv1025sbg
  17. Sadlers opposite Dulwich Library. Never had an issue with collecting meds there.
  18. I've had odd tasting food/drink from Sainsbury's before and had to try other food to double check I didn't have Covid symptoms.
  19. While it's fair to say that there are some of the more unsavory right-wing activists who have tagged on to the anti-LTN campaign, I don't think it's fair to say that everyone against his ULEZ scheme are far-right. Outer Londoners, some of which work in the Home Counties shouldn't have to pay the charge, along with those who live in border areas, some of which are rural. Extending it to places like Croydon or Sutton are fair enough as they're as built up as Inner London, but extending the charge to places like Downe or Chelsfield isn't really worth it. The anti-LTN support has been from a wide range of people with different political beliefs.
  20. It looks like the Lebanese Loop fraudsters have moved on from Barclays to Sainsbury's.
  21. Private Eye arrived today, one day late.
  22. Shocker, today's Private Eye didn't arrive today.
  23. Just across the border in Forest Hill, Thames Water are once again digging the same part of London Road with the temporary traffic lights in operation again for the fourth time in three months.
  24. From the Peckhamplex website at https://www.peckhamplex.london/about-us
  25. Private Eye and the replacement copy turned up at the same time today. The next edition is out tomorrow. It's strange as my other magazine subscription and other deliveries arrived on time over the last fortnight.
