  1. I found one of the Lime scooters dumped on London Road in Forest Hill, despite the fact e-scooters are supposed to be docked at e-scooter bays. It was right next to a Lime bike as well.
  2. And once again it wouldn't be the same if Thames Water didn't dig up that section of LL again. This time it's by Overhill Road, temporary lights are in use. Luckily, the water pressure seems to be fine this time round.
  3. It's about the same walking time to Tesco Express in Forest Hill or the Sainsbury's Local on LL.
  4. There's also a Tesco Express 5-7 min walk or two bus stops away from where Toolstation is. Luckily there's the option to either bus it to Forest Hill station or bus it which takes around 5 mins. I hope you guys enjoy living on Streamline Mews.
  5. So I was on an e-bike yesterday evening and as I was riding down the hill at Beauval Road towards Townley Road, I was overtaken by a "proper" cyclist who tore down the hill while I was being considerate with my speed towards pedestrians and car users. It happened again on Colwell Road by another cyclist who cut me up while speeding. While I respect that they were competent cyclists with years of experience, there would be people outraged if it was someone on a motorbike or scooter.
  6. The West Dulwich sorting office is for the SE21 postcode only. As mentioned, SE22 is covered by Peckham.
  7. I never walk through that park at dark, it takes longer to walk the other way round, but it's safer.
  8. I got a bulk of post on Saturday and again today. One of my packages took 8 days to reach me from the same company while two others arrived faster despite ordering later.
  9. Bellenden into Maxted Road, Nutbrook Street and Adys Road are great to cycle on. I still don't feel particularly comfortable cycling on LL except for the section southbound from Friern Road to Wood Vale which is largely a bus lane.
  10. Years ago it had a chemist, post office, a decent grocers, newsagents, baker and a butcher on that row of shops opposite The Grove, but I rarely use those shops, the last time I went there was to Toolstation of all places! I'll walk up to the shops by The Plough instead or go to Forest Hill.
  11. I live in that part of LL and it's the forgotten part of ED. There's the Dulwich Beer Dispensary bar on the corner of Melford Road and Dulwich Park is close enough, but what it doesn't have in shops, it makes up for in excellent public transport with buses to the more busier part of LL and Forest Hill has various bars too. It's also very close to Horniman Museum and Forest Hill station.
  12. They're planning to build 24 flats on the Lordship Lane Estate next door to the skate park.
  13. Hardly, the roads I used had shared access for cars and bikes. There's a segregated cycle lane on one part of the Bellenden one-way system and that was it. All of the back roads I used in Peckham had humps to slow down cars which Court Lane also has and yet the Peckham roads and Crystal Palace Road allow cars which shows that it's not closing a whole road that needs to be done, but sensible cycling measures which could have been introduced instead of the LTN.
  14. The exact same fate as the Barclays in Forest Hill I suspect like the one in Forest Hill, they won't take NHS patients either.
  15. I rode tonight from Morrisons Peckham to LL. Considering it was dark and Bellenden Road was reasonably busy with cars, I did wonder if I'd be in any real danger? Not really, the roads in that part of Peckham have are fine for bikes and there is some cycling provision on the one-way system and painted bike symbols on the roads there. Is there a LTN? Nope. It's an area that could easily become one, it's the most affluent part of Peckham and yet the measures there for cycling are fine, so why didn't they do that in Dulwich Village?
  16. The Lime scooters have to park in designated places. I've seen one on LL and another on Barry Road. What Lime and Human Forest need to do is fine customers who don't park their bikes properly. They already have to take a photo after parking the bike which should show if a customer has just dumped it on the pavement blocking access.
  17. It didn't help that Southern got rid of the older trains which has led to short formation services.
  18. Poundland haven't sold products for only £1 for a while now. They use multi-pricing.
  19. Considering the size of the current Foxtons, it's more suited to being a smaller convenience store than a standard Poundland. I've purchased food and milk from a standard Poundland and milk for example is a tad cheaper than supermarkets.
  20. I've recently got back into cycling and North Cross Road is perfectly safe as it is even with cars doing 15-20mph. On the whole, the back roads which haven't been closed to through traffic I feel perfectly safe riding along such as Crystal Palace Road, Goodrich Road, Pellatt Road (where car drivers have given me right of way) etc. It's main roads that need more cycling provision, the cycle lanes on Peckham Road are wonderful despite buses, cars and lorries thundering past. I also felt safe turning off the junction of Peckham Road to Lyndhurst Way, but on LL I don't feel particularly safe except for the bus lane sections towards The Grove in the Forest Hill direction.
  21. I use Bolney Court Dental Surgery on Lawrie Park Road, Sydenham. It's right outside the Cricketers Walk Bus Stop served by the 176/197. Never had major issues getting an appointment and still takes NHS patients.
  22. For staples, M&S Food Hall has been cheaper or the same as Sainsbury's. They're cheaper for 1 Pint milk than the Co-op.
  23. With Turney Road becoming part of a new LTN, that will shift even more traffic onto Croxted Road which has seen the worst of the jams since the Village LTN was implemented.
  24. I don’t know what sex you are but I’m telling you that I don’t know a single woman who wants a biological male in their private spaces or sports categories. Not a single female. None. And none of them is homophobic, in fact some of them are lesbians. If you’re female then you’re an anomaly, if you’re male then you’re an entitled misogynist and the main crux of this heinous problem. And if you only see people “for who they are and not their private parts” then why do you support people changing their pronouns, identifying with stereotypical tropes of what male and female is, and potentially mutilating themselves beyond all repair? Surely the people who are against all this new religion (“transphobes”) are the ones who truly care about who people are and not what’s in their pants? Go figure All of this is textbook GC nonsense that continues to be banded around by a minority of people. If you get out of your echo chamber, the reality is much more neutral.
  25. This issue spans the political spectrum. Most radical fems who are gender critical tend to be politically left-wing. But many right-wingers are against this new religion. It's possibly the only issue which both sides are united upon. The far-left and the far-right have always had more that unites then than divides.
