Whilst I think it not worth getting legalistic over 20 GBP, the company really ought to be making sure their staff don't give naff advice. Have you tried http://www.londontravelwatch.org.uk. The following looks similar to what happened to you

Mark Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > But yes, > keep it simple, I think perhaps 5 fields and then > one generic 'About Me' one I agree that you can get carried away with lots of fields, most of which people won't use. I would suggest - an about me (free format text) - text box for for misc links. For example I might put in Andrew's Flickr pictures http://www.morleychamberchoir.org.uk/ Choir I sing in The latter would cover most of the wierd and wonderful fields people want.

I refer the honourable gentleman (or lady) to the answer I gave earlier :-) Under the thread "Clock House Closed?" I suggested that once the CH reopened we should ought to test it out with a forum meet,

http://www.clockhousepub.com/ says it is reopening on 3-May. Were you to sit on the bench in the back room on the left hand corner you would have realised why a refrub might be a good idea. The bench had a an undulation in it and you ended up sitting on hard bit of wood :( Perhaps we ought to test it out with a forum meet, but I would wait for a few weeks after the reopening.

Perhaps various EDF related events should take place on different cycles of 8 days so that - no one is excluded from other events - people who have regular commitments elswhere (eg I have choir on most thurs) can come at least some of the time The astute reader will note my degree subject from a previous similar posting :-)

Domitianus Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I am scared that the kids will trounce me and then > point me out in the street! I used to be quite good at chess til I was about 18 (****). Then people said you are a mathematician so you must be good at chess. This raised the goalposts to the point where I decided not to risk being only mediocre at chess. So I stopped playing. **** clearly any evidence as to whether I was good at chess at 17 has been lost in the mists of time so I can make this statement without feer of repraisal.

I think they are implying that the would prefer the "do-gooders" actually do good rather than pay lip service or delude themselves that they are doing good. Not sure if do-badders should have one or two ds, but then I am dyslexic so I don't trust my judgement :-)

Well I hope that coming in to work on Sunday two weeks in a row will justify mine without SMART bullshit.

I often travel from Denmark Hill -> ED around 7pm. Sometimes there will be a long queue to get onto a fairly full 185 / 176. Then an almost empty 40 turns up and drives straight past. The drivers logic is presumably that the anyone who might use the 40 could equally get 185/176 .

Does that mean they have been trading illegally and will have to stop. I dont understand the jargon of this sort of stuff. -
OK - nice to feel wanted! Here are the first few - click on the picture to take you to the set. I have set them as private but the link above will let you see them - ie you have to get the link from this site to get to them. Not Fort Knox stuff but gives a little privacy. Please let me know if you want any removed. Some of them could do with a crop (no Britney jokes please) but it was better to get them up.

No I am not in bed. Will get some photos up now.

Hi The item about this seems to have got rather a long way down the list, so I quick note will bring it to the top :) If you wish to tick the "No publicity" option, you may be glad to know that I will be a little late (around 9). So you can have a few drinks before I snap, name and shame on Flickr. Of course if anyone else would like to share the role of self appointed joint official photographer, please go ahead. And I have just remembered my camera battery is a bit thirsty..

I think maps and photos would help. I wandered down LL yesterday and the following shops look empty. http://www2.black1.org.uk/local/ give you a map with photos if you click on the markers. Just a bit of Google maps and Flickr intergration with a small smattering of AJAX.

Gently nudging the thread back to the subject .... > Does Sat 24th Feb sound ok with everyone? That looks OK to me

I think that having it on different nights would be good, differnt people have different other engagements. I would quite like Fridays as there is less unmissable things happen that night. How about Fri 16 Feb. Of course people who value their (photographic) privacy might prefer a date I am busy :)
