1. I don't think it will make any noticeable difference here at all. 70% of the time they have to take off and land east to west because of the prevailing wind conditions. That means that there would only be 15 Saturdays a year when these extra 7 hours of flights will be anywhere near us.
2. "Not our responsibility" "we're doing a pretty good job" Shameless
3.
slithers of green will be built on. Why not celebrate
From the forum's most ardent climate change proponent.
4. You can download the unaudited accounts there too. There's about a 2 year delay getting the audits completed.
5. I'm going to object on the bases that removing street space and streets for living and streets for people is contrary to the councils stated plans to ban cars and enforce active travel. This flies in the face of their green credentials too and it must be stopped. Makes a total mockery of the low traffic neighbourhood schemes nearby.
6. New bays could add to parking pressure though if they are placed strategically. I suspect many of them will appear in ED in areas where the council want to new CPZs and the residents are resistant.
7. This CPZ isn't just Dulwich Village though. It comes right into our area. It extends all the way to the east side of Lordship Lane all the way down to Townley Road. It's a huge area and it will impact all of East Dulwich very badly which I have no doubt whatsoever is the main intention. They are going to do whatever it takes to make us beg for a CPZ here and won't stop until we do.
8. Those c***s that drive their electric bikes on the pavement and through pedestrian crossings / red lights / no entries etc Those are the EV drivers I dislike the most. They are also always the most undeservedly smug. And there should be a special place in hell for the ones who park their electric bikes in the middle of the footpath
9. So, some apologies are due here to the previous management.
10. This is another survey that you can't complete at all unless you agree to the council harvesting your data. There is no option to opt of data collection if you want to proceed with the survey. I'm not sure how they square that with GDPR.
11. It's also pretty disgraceful that you can't complete the survey at all unless you agree to the council harvesting your data. There is no option to opt of data collection if you want to proceed with the survey I'm not sure how they square that with GDPR??
12. Maybe it's time the council started charging these people rent for each of the carparking spaces taken uo by their dropped curbs at the premium rate their supercars justify. Why should those multimillionaire get to drive over our pavements and park for free while forcing all the peasants to pay for parking on the road?
13. What an absolute joke this survey is. How can they possibly expect people to swallow the myth that there is parking pressure on roads like Calton Avenue or Gilkes Crescent when literally every single house on those roads has a car park in front of it with space for at least two cars? They must think people are so stupid.
14. They need our money to cover the tens of thousands of pounds (sometimes more than £100,000 for a single business) a year they give to the council as business rates. I wonder what value for money the local businesses feel they get for that.
15. Sorry to hear that KK. No one deserves that kind of abuse in their own home. I hope the police and the council can put a stop to this and give these people the help they need.
16. And would we get a rebate on our council tax too?
17. The evidence is all over east dulwich! also If you look on east dulwich Road there are two signs up at the park complaining that the road has not been swept for four months. That's the middle of summer when there were no leaves.
18. Do you think there'll be another one of these meetings in January to celebrate all the amazing achievements this year and to plan for the year ahead? I see some Bah Humbug has put signs up around Goose Green itself complaining that the streets haven't been swept for four months. They should be invited to the next one of these meetings to find out how much effort our councilors are putting in.
19. That's because Southwark council don't collect your garden waste. £40 in 2022 to £80 next year. Think I'll just get a bigger green bin amd putthe garden waste in there. Leaves from council trees that they don't bother sweeping will get dumped in the middle of their road.
20. Watch live here: youtube.com/watch?v=4q6gsmnTOi4 You can rewind that link too to see how it started. It's pretty shocking tbh.
21. 750,000 new people (net) arrived in the country this year. We need to build homes to house these people. The school and the railway line are already overlooked by a timber yard. A timber yard that has massive lorries going up and down a road to it that is already there. Get on and build I say. Or not. Fewer homes means higher prices for homeowners like me.
22. I've read it thanks and added the bit you left out - traffic down inside LTNs, traffic up on boundary roads.
23. So traffic down inside the LTN, traffic up on the boundary roads. Something we all knew already and something that was entirely foreseeable. These are some of the words Earl left out where he put that ellipsis in his quote... "Specifically, this study found substantial reductions in motor traffic within scheme areas, while across boundary roads there was very little aggregate change (+0.7% mean average compared to background trends). "
24. I genuinely don't understand how people are still surprised that the Labour Party want to tax and spend. It's all they've ever done.
25. What sort of things do they sell there?
