Casting aspersions about their funding because you have no answer to their arguments is a really shabby way to engage with this important issue. You should try to be better.
-
Everyone gets that they are terrible at budgeting. The point the OP has repeatedly made is that they are even worse at being transparent.

Newts spawn? There's some newts in that fountain in Peckham Rye Park.

The council are reasonably to quick to deal with stuff reported on here too. I've had a good response to reports of pot holes, fly tipping and abandoned rubbish bins.

If it's this bad it's worth complaining How do I complain? If your provider fails to repair a fault by the date promised, or you are unhappy with how long it is taking, follow their formal complaints procedure. This should be explained on their website or by their customer services team. If your problem is still unresolved after eight weeks, you can complain to an independent Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) scheme. Ask your provider for a ‘deadlock’ letter so that you can refer your dispute to the relevant ADR scheme directly before the eight-week mark. There are two ADR schemes: the Communications and Internet Services Adjudication Scheme (CISAS) and Communications Ombudsman. All providers must belong to one of the schemes. Your provider will tell you which scheme it is a member of, or you can use our ADR checker.

Trade reviews - how do you tell if they are genuine?
CPR Dave replied to Moovart's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Had similar with a tradesman on here. Lots of good reviews. First job he did was OK and reasonably priced. Next job he sent someone else along who was very mediocre, stole some stuff from me and the job ended up costing nearly twice the original estimate. -
Would have been worth 4m if we'd got a Waitrose instead of screw fix. 3000 sq ft of voluminous, lateral living spaces that have been expertly curated is actually quite a lot for round here.

Their menu (on Just Eat, they dint even seem tk have their own website) looks disappointingly similar to every other generic "Chinese" restaurant. Given how long it's taken them to open it seems a shame that the offer looks quite so bland.

Just put it in the green bin and save £80.

Vanishing view from Nunhead Cemetery ?
CPR Dave replied to KidKruger's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Protected view includes the backdrop too. So if this spoiled the view of St Paul's from a protected view in the North (Primose Hill) etc this would be a problem. This issue came up in the DHFV stadium application which itself has no view of St Paul's but might have impacted other protected views if the the housing tower blocks were too tall. -
Hi Rockets, am I reading that right if I conclude that there is now 35% more traffic on East Dulwich Grove E than there was before March 2020? If so that represents a shocking failure on the part of the council. Someone should resign for that. And someone should resign for all the gaslighting telling us that there is less traffic than there was before.

If its the one I've seen (heard!) I think it might be an M4.

Garden Waste Fees - 50% increase

You can download the unaudited accounts there too. There's about a 2 year delay getting the audits completed. -
I'm going to object on the bases that removing street space and streets for living and streets for people is contrary to the councils stated plans to ban cars and enforce active travel. This flies in the face of their green credentials too and it must be stopped. Makes a total mockery of the low traffic neighbourhood schemes nearby.

New bays could add to parking pressure though if they are placed strategically. I suspect many of them will appear in ED in areas where the council want to new CPZs and the residents are resistant.

Dulwich Village area-wide CPZ consultation is back!
CPR Dave replied to Rockets's topic in Roads & Transport
This CPZ isn't just Dulwich Village though. It comes right into our area. It extends all the way to the east side of Lordship Lane all the way down to Townley Road. It's a huge area and it will impact all of East Dulwich very badly which I have no doubt whatsoever is the main intention. They are going to do whatever it takes to make us beg for a CPZ here and won't stop until we do. -
Those c***s that drive their electric bikes on the pavement and through pedestrian crossings / red lights / no entries etc Those are the EV drivers I dislike the most. They are also always the most undeservedly smug. And there should be a special place in hell for the ones who park their electric bikes in the middle of the footpath
