  1. I still haven't had my rebate. I pay by DD monthly (have done for years) and have had no correspondence from the council at all. Their website now says: I can't see anyway to get in contact with them though and I haven't had an invite. Is anyone else in the same situation?
  2. Cancelling trains just means more people in cars Malumbu, which is worse for the climate if they aren't electric cars. We saw that in the Covid pandemic and the local Labour administration spent many futile millions of pounds diverting traffic away from a select few roads and the London wide Labour administration singularly failed to get people back out of their cars and onto trains by not doing anything whatsoever to get teh trains back up to the old levels of service. and then to make things worse the national Labour party supported train strikes a couple of weeks ago which encouraged people back into their cars and away from the railways.
  3. It's also important to point that this behaviour is not civil disobedience it is criminal damage. ETA : There are also criminal offences of tampering with a motor vehicle and vehicle interference under the Road Traffic Act.
  4. You've been completely pwnnd there Peter.
  5. Yes she was very unlucky moving in next door to such people.
  6. It's criminal, Peter. I'm glad your child was OK. But this isn't helped by local councillors obstructing justice and then bragging about it on here and elsewhere. People used to respect the law, and campaign to change it if it was wrong, not take justice into their own hands If we accept vigilantes going round stopping deportations and vandalising cars the what's next for them?
  7. There are also quite a lot of accidental landlords who had no intention of becoming renty and they did their bit, worked hard and bought a flat and then found they couldn't buy a family home in areas like ours because 1) stamp duty is 10% plus in ready cash on a 4 bedroom house here and 2) the feckless youth want home ownership but don't want a mortgage and don't want to commit to a career and don't want to pay to own the home they feel they are entitled to.
  8. Not sure you can doubt their legal advice. They won their case after all.
  9. Happy to wait, Peter.
  10. {Please can you demonstrate your balance by pointing out all the articles you have written about LTNs that don't work?
  11. It raises lots of tax, that?s how.
  12. They are unbelievable. We should be in no doubt that they will put the CPZ in here too that was rejected by 68% of the residents.
  13. "The Government has allocated the council a Council Tax Rebate budget of ?17,367,300 which was received on the 30 March 2022. " I still haven't received my rebate and they have been sitting on this oney for well over two months now. It's shameful behaviour form the council, once again.
  14. So we need to cancel having a party political Mayor of London?
  15. Sadiq Khan is in charge of cancelling London bus routes
  16. Yeah stay on topic. The tories haven't run the buses in London since 2016. We are most of the way through the next decade of a Labour run tfl and its an absolute f*****g s**t***w. It is going to get worse from here too and no amount of complaining about the tories will change that.
  17. Good luck George Tfl is a ******* disgrace
  18. 350 bus driver jobs affected too. What a shoddy way to behave
  19. It won't just be the customer that suffers. It will be all the employees, businesses, galleries, museums, offices, and employers that customers would have visited with better transport that will suffer too. I can't believe tfl and the Mayor have let it come to this.
  20. You'd think this would have been a golden opportunity for TfL to take money off Soutehrn rail when overground services were also being reduced. For people stuck at ED waiting 30 minutes for the next train they could have offered a ?1 bus service into London Bridge on number 40. Would take the same time and many people would then spend money getting on the tube.
  21. Cutting buses won't force people to cycle. They'll just stop going in to Central London and work from home instead. It's a shame for a lot of people who rely on physical work in town like waiters and cleaners etc, but if there is no transport there will be no business in central London. the whole city will decline from the middle outwards, just like Detroit did. And the poorest will be hit hardest by that sadly.
  22. Anyone else trying to make ends meet who losers customers at the rate tfl have starts to think about discounting. Tfl have just put their fares up by 4.8%. It's moronic in a downward spiral.
