  1. Nope all videos - pre recorded and home recorded. i tried recording and it still played back in B+W. As far as I recall Star wars was not made in B+W!! I've changed the scart, so there isn't anything else to connect - that links TV to combi box of tricks...very annoying and baffling in equal measures.
  2. I've got a Toshiba combined VCR/DVD/Freeview which connects to the TV with a scart lead. For some reason I cannot fathom, the video replays perfectly but only in black and White. Everything else (DVD, TV play etc) works as it should. Settings for colour all on auto. I've checked all the cables are in and turned it on and off endlessly...any ideas? Anyone...?
  3. http://www.southwarkpct.nhs.uk/our_services/emergency_and_out_of_hours The phone number is here for emergency services Cx
  4. They were doing Choumert Road on wednesday.
  5. I took the train from peckham rye to blackfriars, then district line to west Ham and walked in along the Greenway - all well signposted and marshalled and no queuing. Was very straightforward.
  6. Probably, because the school term starts in the middle of the paralympics...
  7. Could smell it in Peckham too..also thought it was cats or foxes
  8. I think until they post the official route, like you can see for the Greenwich and Lewisham sections then it's still just indicating the borough rather than the actual route.

I checked the official web site just now but the street level route still has not been posted for Southwark yet. The dotted line that sits over Peckham is just a random blob to indicate the borough isn't it? Is it posted somewhere else?
  10. Does the problem lie in doctors working at the patient end of their work for such limited periods of time that to actually see a doctor of your choice the chances in any given week are quite low...the GP I am seeing at the other DMC (Chadwick) only works 3 days a week so automatically there is a high % that she won't be available when I want to see her, therefore I have to wait a week or so. The rest of the time they are involved in other work - which will possibly increase when they take over the commissioning of care anyway, making it less likely to see them?
  11. I missed those and emailed the guy but never heard anything...be interested though in anything.
  12. Perhaps we should have a Choumert Road neighbourhood watch? Insurance always asks me if I'm in one - if it brought down insurance costs I'd be interested. Which bit of Choumert are you?
  13. Thanks for the warning.
  14. Went last tuesday, arrived at 7.15 and got ticket number 51. At 7.30 the first person was number 35!!
  15. Twice today in Choumert Rd - very short and power came back almost immediately.
  16. P13 around Bellenden is generally OK, I take it from time to time and use it for Sainsburys when I don't need to drive. It is also useful for getting to work via New Cross.
  17. Advertising board for pizzas on East Dulwich Road/signs for walls in Lordship lane bring howls of fury, whereas in Rye Lane/Peckham Rye it doesn't matter? After all it's only run down derelict old peckham. It does all sound a bit nimbyistic.
  18. Longer in my experience - at least an hour.

When I came home yesterday after a few days away I could also smell a chemical, solvent type smell - reminded me of airfix glue.We have just had our gas piping done down the street which finished before christmas. It's gone now, but was quite noticeable and I remembered reading this thread. this is Choumert Rd.
  20. oh god....woke up with mild sore throat and had indigestion (already got gastritis).....hope it's not this!

Well to be honest I wouldn't put too much credence on the words of an uninterested receptionist, but the sense I got was no permanent GPs.Maybe the Dr in question is permanent but so was Dr Bhatia as far as I understood. I've voted with my feet today and registered elsewhere - where the receptionist actually smiled at me and answered my questions. Oh and gave me a practice leaflet listing 5, yes 5! GPs.
  23. Just don't ask for a practice leaflet listing their services because apparently "we haven't got one". When I said I wanted it to know who the GPs were I was told there were no GPs!! Being able to get information about the practice is just a fundamental I would say. Going to another practice today to make arrangements. Actually going to MGMP now makes me anxious, as their responses have ben so rude and offhand recently that I feel angry before I even get there now. That's not health care!!!!!
  24. I have also just left a comment.
  25. MGMP: Poor customer relations today from the receptionist I had to deal with - I mean, how hard is it to actually make eye contact and smile at someone. Then because of no appointments except "phone up and play doctor roulette" ones I agreed to a phone consultation. This was hurried and I was told that I couldn't ask all the things I wanted (all related to the same problem)and made to feel that effecively I was taking up too much time. And the request from the hospital for them to follow up with a specific test? Not one murmur of since Sept. Utterly hateful experience everytime. I've complained and complained but nothing ever changes. Once Christmas is over I'm off somewhere where they give a damn. even a little damn would be better than no damn at all.
