Wow. Gave me goose bumps.

sorry...i had this up to write reply for ages and hadn't seen all the other posts. Fuscia, thank you...some helpful stuff and i'm def going to try propping his head at night because he seems to sleep better when he's more upright, thinking about it. I should also have said he's a big lad...9lb 6 at birth and at last weigh at four weeks he was 12lb 3!! so, everyone always been pleased with his weight gain. Never appeared to have a problem with feeding but it might be worth me checking his latch in case of the air intake. thanks again. :)

thanks all...yes his poo is mustardy and runny so it doesn't seem he is constipated. We've just had a huge one this morning followed shortly by another normal one!! He now seems happier. i know he should be getting all he needs from me so will hold off the water etc...It's just when he seems really distressed I hate it! thank you all for your replies.

yes that's how he is...grunting, farting and moaning, plus thrashing about a lot. He really doesn't like me to massage his tummy, but i can do the leg stuff so will keep at that. i was kind of thinking it was something we and he would have to just put up with for a bit. He hasn't taken the orangey water so i prob won't bother again. Do you know if it's ok/a good idea to try giving plain water to help? thanks for the advice.

just wondering if anyoe can offer a bit of advice? my five week old son seems to be really struggling to poo. He's mainly breast fed (we give the odd formula if i'm particularly knackered, haven't had chance to express and my husband is able to take over while i sleep.) He's gone from doing three or four poos a day to just one in 24 hours..which comes as an explosion after struggling all day and night. It's really usetting to see him so uncomfortable...does anyone have any tips to get him moving? Have just tried to give him cooled water with a few drops from an orange in, on a friends recommendation but he won't take it.

Changing midwifery practices: 21wks in

I would definitely try to change too. I was never really happy with my MW group (would be interesting to know who yours are!) and I ended up having an unpleasant, let's say, labour and birth experience with them. I don't see why you wouldn't be able to swap if you talk to the GP. After a really lovely, relaxed pregnancy I had an upsetting labour so don't do the same if they have narked you. Good luck. x -
Hi all... I know there are probably endless threads about breast milk so I hope no one minds me posting a new one. I'm a new mum with a two week old and am breast feeding. We still haven't fed in public and I'm really nervous about it as we're still finding our feet. I just wondered - if I express milk to give baby while we''re out, but actually end up feeding him properly (as I'd like to try!) can I put the expressed stuff back in the fridge when we get home because I hate the thought of wasting it? Any advice much appreciated. Thanks.

i've only just remembered!!! probably wouldn't have made it as we're all over the place too. Does anyone think we should try to meet somewhere else with a bit more room next week? The new cafe The Gardens opposite Peckham Rye is nice and roomy....or the Actress? just suggestions...hope to see you all next week when we're a bit more with it. Fuschia, at the moment we just try to meet on tues afternoons at 3pm, usually at green and blue and i think most of us just check here to see who will be along etc. Penny x

Woo hoo! All these babies...congratulations Sue and Victoria. Two lovely girls! My son Archie Jake was born on Feb 1st after what I think was about a two day slow labour. We're stuck in Kings at the moment because he was a big lad (9lb 6) and I had a few complications. But, we're doing fine and look forward to seeing you all soon and massive Congrats again! Penny Xx

Hiya....sorry about your bad night Debbie...imagine I will feel your pain soon. Anyway....GRRR I can't get there again this morning because I'm having to wait in for a delivery that we've already missed once and Husband is at work. I really want to catch up with everyone. Thurs at 3pm is good for me. Penny. x

thanks all....I Already use Addison Lee a lot, but usually from town coming home, or work...never think to use them for short journeys closer to home, but glad to know they are good for this as I think their service is brilliant. Thanks for info and any others still welcome.
