Another primary school question, sorry! Just looking for some general advice. At 18 months, should I be thinking about primary school for my son? I'm thinking I should! When and where should I start? I'm not even 100 per cent sure I'll be living in this area, so should I start to think seriously about where we will be? Or am i just worrying about it all a bit early?

Thanks everyone! Great suggestions, really appreciate you all taking the time. We'll work Our way through them. Hoping to head to Godstone Farm tomorrow. Cheers

Hi all knowing forumites! As a new driver I'm looking for places i can drive to for a day out which aren't too far away, but are far away enough if you know what I mean? Where can we go this weekend that's maybe an hour or so drive away and is a nice day out for us with an 18 month old? Also, looking for ideas for places to take my 6 and 4 year old nephews in a couple of weeks. Open to all suggestions! Beach, forests, nice country pubs with a garden for the kids, castles... Hope you can point me in the right direction!

Hi everyone, I hope nobody minds me posting this here, but i have a little website aimed at women and I'm on the hunt for some writing talent to contribute to the site. I can't pay anything, but I thought there must be lots of ladies in ED who have plenty to say and feel like putting fingers to keys and bashing a few words out on a female related subject. I'm an editor on a section of a national paper and set this little site up on maternity leave. Now, I'm back working full time and am in the process of pulling a little team together so we can carry the site forward. So, if anyone fancies writing something for us, either as a one off or as a regular contributor we'd love to hear from you. It could be mum related, baby/kids stuff, a career rant or related to a women's news subject...fashion/beauty/culture/events. I'd love to hear from anyone who is interest so please get in touch on penny@nevermissedabeat.com Here's the site: www.nevermissedabeat.com

This makes me so sad. Anyone who knows these kids and where they live should be informing social services, or as suggested NSPCC, so that their welfare can be checked on etc. they're just kids so they are either being coerced into this or they have very little and see this as a way of gaining something for themselves. It's not right but they might need some help.

So, you've started a new thread about it?

Can anyone help with nurseries in Beckenham?
Sally81 replied to Sally81's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Thanks to both of you for your help. Yes please anyjoy, that would be great. -
This is very off patch - Sorry all and admin! However, I just wondered if anyone has experience or knowledge of any nurseries in Beckenham? Anyone got friends who live there with little ones who go to nursery there? Any pointers would be massively appreciated. Thanks, Penny. x

Why did you allow your dog to foul the road and then walk away from it at 8.45am this morning? I am livid about this. The lady in question is 50s + with a longish grey bob and green overcoat. She has a small white dog with black patches. She also walks a young girl, usually on a scooter, to (goose green, I think) school. I am so sick of dodging dog mess on my way to nursery in the morning. We all know that Ondine rd is particularly bad for it. It's so selfish and a disgusting thing to do. I am really shocked that this woman stood, watched her dog foul and then walked off, right in front of me. I hope you read this and that you are ashamed. Oh and I did call after this woman, telling her she "needed to clean her dog mess up" but she completely ignored me. I will be confronting her again next time I see her. Sorry, rant over. I'm just so angry.

Artist Taxi Driver mentions Dulwich [WARNING: strong language]

He just seems like some middle aged dad who thinks ge's funny and has decided to video himself. It made me cringe. The bankers one was less cringeworthy though. -

How odd. I don't know anything about these things but it's going to be very cold tonight. Hope it will survive!! I guess the RSPCA can't come out and look for it in the dark? -
I'm am trying to find my Irsh dentist from above the chemist!?
Sally81 replied to Maree's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Yep I too miss her. She was the best one I've ever had. I'm also nervous these days since an horrific root canal and she was so good at keeping me calm, checking I was ok etc. I saw her replacement on Friday. Perfectly ok dentist but was quite sniffy with me about having missed my previous appointment and not sympathetic at all about nerves. Just ignored me when I mentioned it. It wasn't Anne Marie, I don't remember her name. Jane, the dental nurse was lovely as ever though. -
Looking for a brilliant Childrens entertainer
Sally81 replied to Mitfordsisters's topic in The Family Room Discussion
My husband was at the actress early evening last night with our 12 month old and there was a puppeteer entertainer there, with a little party, I believe. My son was enthral led by the show. Does anyone know who that was? -

Hi Ayshe, The Stay and Play group on Mondays at the Albrighton Centre (1.30pm til 3pm) is a really nice, friendly group. I definitely recommend that one. Just turn up , it's free. X

Oh that's good to hear Fuscia, thank you! We tried mini pizzas tonight. His nursery tells me he eats them There but same old story with mine tonight. A couple of tastes and nothing nothing more. Ended up having some fruit pur?e and at least he has a full bottle before bed. Will try some Mac and cheese tomorrow I think. Thanks everyone and feel free to share more ideas or let me know your kids are the same!

Great ideas everyone. I'm getting A bit stressed about how much he eats. We make most of the above to be honest. The problem doesn't seem to be the taste, he appears to like most things but he has one or two tiny bites then refuses anymore. If he does take more he chews a bit then pushes it out again. Everything I make ends up in the bin at the moment. Anyone else the same? I just feel he's eating very little and that it can't be right.

Hi all...happy new year to everyone! Just wondering if anyone wants to share any quick, easy food ideas for little ones. My 11 month old has become a pain to feed lately. He went off the spoon so has been having mostly finger food stuff , though in the last couple of days he seems slightly more up for the spoon again. However, he has only been taking bits and bobs at each meal before refusing anymore (except breakfast which he eats well.) I'm worried he isn't eating enough and feel I've lost the ability to make his meals fun and interesting. Any tips, anyone, for tasty healthy little meals for him? I've got a couple of books but just thought I'd see if the family room has any fail safe baby dishes?
