  1. Hi all, Some time ago some of you might remember filling out a survey for me on here about maternity buying trends/habits. Your answers were all really helpful and I have now finally launched my online marketplace, NINERY and would love you family roomers to take a look! It's a essentially a women's wear shopping site with an emphasis on maternity, breastfeeding styles and 'mum fashion'. But there's plenty for women whose kids are much older too. I really hope you'll have a peek and I'll happily take any feedback. The site is http://ninerystore.com/
  2. We also used Tuppence when I was a kid and also Mary! Not sure what I will call it when my 14 month old starts requiring a name for hers! This is a really common topic of convo - no reason at all not to ask about it here! Just yesterday I was laughing with my sis as she calls her son's his ding-a-ling!!
  3. Hello! Does anyone have any brilliant, novel or just really successful ways you've helped your toddler to learn about sharing? Searching for a couple of lovely mums to share an anecdote and have a teeny pic in Mother & Baby mag.... Struggling!! Thanks if anyone can help!
  4. Thank you amydown and Jules-and-boo
  5. Hi all, Really hoping a couple of you fab ED mums can come to my rescue! I'm writing a really lovely feature for a parenting mag all about the positive effects of Christmas traditions - how they can help bonding/create lovely memories/give sense of belonging etc... As an aside I need a few mums to feature and tell me about their top pre Christmas prep tips - so maybe you try to wrap 5 presents a night in the run up/you make food and freeze it for the big day/ you make decorations on rainy days in autumn with the kids ready for xmas/ ANYTHING really along those lines. I need the help of mums who have a child 3 or under and you would feature with a little smiley head shot in the December issue. Would be lovely if anyone can help?? Thanks xx
  6. Jelly Belly PT for sure. The postnatal class is great and baby goes along too.
  7. Does anyone know if the above place still needs donations? I have tried the numbers above but no luck. Or does anyone know of a similar place that would like children's clothes, equipment etc?
  8. great, will look into these. Thanks guys.
  9. Has anyone got a recommendation for a specialist women's health physio in or around ED? Thanks
  10. Hiya, We had a similar thing too about 3 years ago and I just wanted to reassure that although my son's tooth did go grey and a dentist warned me it might die and drop out it actually didn't at all and went right back to normal. He took a chunk out of the gum right above it, when he fell awkwardly. I know how worrying it is, I was really upset at the idea he might lose it as he was only 3 and I knew it would be ages till another grew. But as I say, all was totally fine in the end so hopefully your son's will be too. It doesn't sound like he has done any major damage to the tooth from what you describe so perhaps a dentist would advise a 'watch and wait' scenario rather than pulling it out, so try not to worry. X
  11. HI all, I need 3 mums who are pregnant and or have children 3 or under, to tell me a line or two about the moment they 'clicked' with their best mum mate. It is for a piece on friendship which I am writing for a parenting mag. If you fancied saying something nice about your friend I'd love to hear from you. I'd need to use a small pic of you with your kids too. PM me if you'd like to help! Thank you x
  12. Eliz01 are you saying that you were in the middle of dinner, having arrived earlier than 7pm then as you are, you were told the baby wasn't supposed to be there post 7pm? I can understand how that would be really annoying for you, but surely they didn't quite 'kick you out'? I have been to the Cherry tree 3 times now with my kids and they are perfectly accepting of children. We even did sit in the bar area on New Years Day with friends and there was no problem. I think all pubs around here, despite serving food, don't allow kids after 7pm And I agree that is pretty reasonable. Sometimes when you have a young baby it will of course sleep in the buggy and you could feasibly sit and enjoy a meal but a rule is a rule and I think it's fair enough for it to be there. This all comes down to how you were told about the 7pm rule really, but if it was a polite reminder it is just them doing their job.
  13. Great stuff! Good luck.
  14. I did Pregnancy Fit with Jelly Belly www.jellybellypt.com and really enjoyed it.
  15. I was on Goose Geeen and in the goose green playground this afternoon with my son and we have left the handheld/remote control part of his new aeroplane somewhere! If anyone has seen or picked up something that looks similar please pm me. It's black, sort of gun shaped and the areoplane clips into the top to be launched from.
  16. Hello! We have lost one! Pm'd you.
  17. These guys are fantastic. Really know their stuff. http://www.jellybellypt.com/
  18. I haven't been yet but my friends highly recommend Lyttle Minx up next to Bloomers and The Lordship. I have booked to go on Weds.
  19. I just bought my nearly 5 yr old boy a Make Your Own Bouncy Balls kit from Early learning/Mothercare for ?2.50. Other stocking fillers include a ruler with his name on, a thing called a Foamee which I'd never heard of but I'm sure all the kids have seen in TV ads, basically like a pot of bubbles but blows out a line of foam and a couple of individual Hot Wheels cars....
  20. Grok I think you're totally missing the point and I'm not sure why you're bothering to post. If everyone took your attitude we'd live in a complete sh*t tip! It should not be there in the first place and the OP and the rest of us are simply opening a discussion about what if anything can be done. The answer is not, as it appears you think, to just step around it. By that logic we can all drop our rubbish, fly tip, pee in doorways etc etc and we'll all just put up with it because, you know, we can just step over it, close our eyes to it, ignore it, clean it off ourselves when we get home. Believe me, I agree there are some real 'first world problem' type threads on this forum, and while I also agree this issue of dog mess only falls into the 'things that are highly annoying catergory' - it's still a valid enough local issue to pool thoughts on and find out what, if anything can be done - other than the 'just ignore it' approach. James, thank you. I will email.
  21. Grok you think my 4 year old should have to run about on the park dodging dog muck do you? And Growlybear - of course there are many, many more important things to discuss but this is a local forum for chatting about local issues that annoy us. Get it?? How about you pop on to the For Sale section and pick on someone there, maybe ask if there are not more important things to do than selling an old toaster for a fiver? Dog mess is a real problem all over East Dulwich and surrounding areas and I've definitely noticed it getting worse. There was talk of Dog Licensing in some (one particular?) areas, again, recently wasn't there?
  22. It is really bad on and around Ondine road too at the moment. It's infuriating but as others have said, realistically what can be done? And it's highly unlikely that the people who are letting their dogs poo everywhere are reading this forum because generally to do so, it means you have some sort of interest in the area you live in and what those around you think, feel and have to say about local matters and clearly these scum bags don't have any of that. I wonder if they care about the little boy who's mum had to drag him out of the classroom the other morning in front of all of his friends and try to clean his shoes before he could go back in? Doubt it.
  23. Hi all, Thank you so much for taking the time. Lots to think about and thanks for the recommendation for that FB page - sounds great. I too have mostly bought maternity clothes that aren't specifically for pregnancy and the same with nursing, i just look for clothes i can feed in now. Sunbob thanks for taking a look anyway. It is a free version of survey monkey just to get some initial feedback, but the options are a bit limited. I agree there are sections which may need an 'other' or similar response. Does anyone know any independent maternity and or nursing brands? I'm looking for any small designers/makers etc....do point me in their direction if so. Thank you.
