Hi mate good for you. We have secure bike racks installed (metal poles in the ground) at our house - 2 of them - in a wooden bike shed I have self installed. We are very close to ED station. Happy to help out please DM me Cheers and good luck -
Its beautiful and lots of families, plus super close to the train station and shops and schools. Wouldn't hesitate :)

Hello Lost my keys in last week or two. A set with a small torch from achnairgan Estate Scotland on the chain, some round keys for the house, a bike key with black on the top of the key. Would be very good to get them back as the torch has sentimental meaning and er need a spare bike key. Thank you!

Has anyone had experience of hosting a refugee?
Leara4077 replied to kissthisguy's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
We signed up with them last year. Fairly painless process, social worker came around to assess us, all passed easily. Now waiting on a referral. Signed up for Ukraine scheme today too. RaH have lots of examples online to read and the social worker who does the check on your house should give you a realistic assessment. I wouldn't expect it to always be comfortable but on the whole rave reviews and it is a good thing to do. -
Goose Green councillors - how can we help?
Leara4077 replied to jamesmcash's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
James, I emailed some councillors outside my ward who picked it up, eventually. They sent an inspector, not sure what happens after that. Many thanks -
I'm sorry you had that experience. As someone who is a cyclist and cycles with family locally, I always dislike poorly behaved cyclists. I am similarly dismayed by the aggression of many car users towards cyclists following lockdown, its certainly gotten worse. I hope you keep an eye out for the more respectful bikers too! Happy walking 😊🚲🍃

Goose Green councillors - how can we help?
Leara4077 replied to jamesmcash's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Dear Cllr McAsh Please could I request your assistance with the shop chasing multiple electrocutions to customers and delivery drivers per my thread below? /forum/read.php?5,2249618 It requires urgent remediation and I am getting no help from the council staff or ward councillors. The hospital is nearby so the shop is frequented by NHS staff, patients and many pregnant women also. Best -
Southwark Council's services
Leara4077 replied to Harmlessmischief's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Councils have had 40% cuts in real terms since the 2008 financial crisis. We are new to the Borough and find around where we are better maintained than my old council Lewisham. That bring said my partner has lived in Southwark before but not within East Dulwich and he found the management of council blocks / overcharging for zero work appalling. They aren't known as the best council but I think we have vocal enough residents to keep things going OK here. 🤞 -

Electrocuted twice in local business (French Tacos)
Leara4077 replied to Leara4077's topic in The Lounge
Thank you. Southwark News are interested. Councillors haven't responded despite a couple of emails. May I ask who the Mayor is, or are there any particular Councillors who are active and might be worth contacting? I won't be suing / looking for compensation as I don't believe in doing that to small businesses, especially after covid19. They just need to fix it. -
Hi all, has anyone been up to the shop French Tacos near Denmark Hill Station? They have become a favourite of ours but sorry to say I was electrocuted twice in their shop on Saturday!!! (Once through my hand by touching the doorknob to the shop, and once when I walked through the metal doorframe through both of my feet). As was a deliveroo driver in front of us! Apparently it happens alot according to delivery drivers there at the time. Ambulance came, all clear, but I have black charring on my feet from electrical burns and potential nerve damage in my hand. I hate to denigrate a small business but please be careful while they fix up whatevers happening. We reported them to the council but as ever they are being slow and trying to kick the can to other authorities. They said they would try to send an Enforcemrnt Officer but there's a backlog (eye roll) so I really pushed them to prioritise it. Please take care.
