  8. Hi All Wise Formites My little boy (3) has been sick the last 3 nights at around 10.30pm? He doesn't complain of belly ache or feeling in well and it's not continuos sick just once and then he is fine. He has had a really snotty cold this week and insists on sniffing instead if blowing so I was wondering if it's a build up of snot and mucus resting on his chest/belly that's making him throw up? what you guys reckon? I hope it passes soon my washing pile is enormous! xx
  9. I have this problem too!!!! why??? is it a new trend? my sons nails are nasty, I ve now said for every nail he grows I will give him ?2 the promise of a potential ?20 seems to be working, although we are only 3 days in! I was a terrible nail bitter in my youth and recall my mum painting my nails with stuff that was suppose to stop you biting them but I just got used to the taste...money worked got me..I'm easily bribed! I haven't but my nails for 20 years. nose picking is s whole different story.. I look forward to Ed formites advice x
  10. My little one has started this term 5 mornings a week at a school nursery. They have sent a letter home sayijg that aspart of the early years framework they would like to visit the childs home and observe them in their natural enviroment. My question i guess is why is this not done prior to them starting nursery? I see no real benefits after he has spent 1 month in nursery and seems quiet settled. Also I think its a bit of an invasion of privacy to have someone going round our home and espically in our childrens bedrooms. Has anyone else had this? Am I over reacting? will it look strange if I decline this home visit?
  11. Thanks for all your advice will try camberwell as I have used Lister before and waited hours! I will must remember to take supplies with me!
  12. EEEKKKKK just realised I do not have a spare pill packet hidden amongst my underware!! stupid DMC dont do repeat pill perscriptions so now I have to find a family planning clinic! Anybody know of a local one thats open till 7pm?
  13. Playmobile is a firm fav in our house! also look at fisher price Imaginex toys I have always been impresed with them. My 3 year old is into Ben 10, Power Rangers BAtman spider man and any other blinking super hero that he comes across...however my brother bought him a nerf gun for Christmas and he was blown away by this gift and now classes Uncle as THE bestest Unlce in the WORLD EVER...I however cannot wait for the day that he has a child and then I can repay this glouriuos gift back to him...
  14. I dread the end of school holidays as I know the pack lunch challenge commences! sooo boring, my son eats either ham or wafer thin chicken sandwiches, some times I jazz things up by adding homous and putting it a "wrap", he's quite partial to marmite sandwich but only in cheap white bread(mmmm my secrect fav sarnie) I've tried little pots of treats, cold pasta, chicken drumsticks with eggy rice but he says I'd rather have my sandwich. I always pop a bit of fruit in and packet of crisps... everyone has crisps with a sandwich it's the done thing right!? He dosent like s big lunch as it reduces his play time, I sneaked in chocolate mini roll in today( school doesn't like them having chocolate but I threw caution to the wind and in it went) HE LEFT IT!!! Tag was far more appealing apparently. I have opted this term to not stress about it. I best get off as the wafer thin ham sarnie won't make itself! Good luck x
  15. Mega thanks ED formites, as always fantastic ideas, water stones here I come.Hamster Masacre sounds right up his street! Thanks Medusa will Pm you xxx
  16. My son is a keen reader but im running out of book series to keep him motivated, I welcome any ideas or suggestions. He has read all the following: Mr Gum series Diary of a Wimpy Kid Series Captin Underpants and whatever long winded titles follows Most Roald Dahl books Mr Stink Horrid Henry ( he says he is to Old for any more of these) We haev not gone down the Potter route as he gets a bit disheartened if he sees more than 300 pages. He has tried the Dragon Quest books but he was not that keen,I was hoping he might like the Famous five but the front covers look a bit old fashioned and I think this put him off. Sadly a front cover can make or break a book purchase. Boys are so hard to buy for in all aspects, shoes, clothes, coats, books, gamees etc I wonder if I would have this trouble if they were both girls? x

  18. Feeling your pain...I am a sufferer and have been since the age of 7! at first it was chocolate, orange jucie and cheese then as I got older it was hormonal. I have been and tried everyting, Chinese herbalist, cost a bloody fortune to get my jing and jang flowing, Weekly appointmenst to get new herbs dwhich I had to boil and drink..gaging just thinking about it. Acupuncture was next as it was thought that my blood flow was off, this was relaxing but didnt stop them. Beta Blockers, crap just made me feel weird. I have also been to Kings where I was informed that unfortunatly I am just unlucky...Waited 3 months to be told that. Finally a new dr decieded to change my pill, I am now on the mini pill and have been for last 5 years, it has helped tremendously, I still get migrains but not as bad or as frequantly. Monthly I do tend to get tension type heads but nothing 2 neurfen cant sort. If I catch my migrain from the first twinge( or in my case funny vision) then 2 neurofen and some flat lemonade normally work within 30 mins. Only a migrain sufferer can undersatnd how bad an attack can be. Once Ihad one so bad that it affected my heart rate and I ended up in A&E. GOOD LUCK xx
  19. mini Olympics ( including dress as a country) on Peckham Rye park, We did this for my sons birthday a few years back, few races, egg n spoon, fancy dress relay and sack race, gave out plastic medals and Whistle as prizes. We had a couple of pop up gazebos where the competitors stopped for lunch ( packed mini sports lunches in paper bags) we also hired a ballon modeller( would suggest trying this yourself or asking around as i recall they charged a stupid amount of money to faff about with some ballons) Swords were very popular. then there was generall running around crazziness till pick up time. What was nice was that parents stayed and joined in to, but that may of had soemthing to do with the wine and beer?! 25 Kids!!! thats alot of 5 year olds GOOD LUCK xxx
  20. What is the atraction of Sudacream? It's not like the packaging is fun and exciting, It smells vile and tastes like crap...yes I have tried it! Lucy I wish I coulday they grow out of it, but my 2 are 6 and 3 and they continue to amaze me at the lenghts they will go to get mummy to use her shouty voice, I have come to think they must like it?! Sleep deprivation can turn what was a "normal woman" into the Hulks Mother. My husband can now see the warning signs and has started to take the boys out early sunday mornings for a run around the park ( sometimes as early as 8am) just so I can have a little lay in or to simply enjoy a cup of coffee and morning TV. This hour is vital to me , I am a full time working mum and I adore my monkies with every inch of my being but just sometimes I just need to be alone( with a trashy mag and a sneaky cig tut tut) to feel like human again. I went through a really shouty/ crazy stage not long after my second sons 2nd B'day, so I took myself off to the Dr, turned out I just need to change my pill, after 3 weeks normal service resumed. Good Luck, take deep breaths and remember all these little gems for the future,as Im sure when all our babies are grown up and left home these stories will be the things that make us smile and cry with happiness. Ontop of this what I llok forward to the most is sitting abck and laughing my arse off when my kids tell me that my darling Grandchildren have sudacreamed thier brand new ?300 rug! xxx
  21. Dear All thank you for your advice, I have passed on your pearls of wisdom and suggested she go and road test a few with both bambinos. EDF come up trumps again, My huband says Im obsessed with the forum ( maybe a little truth in that) as when ever he asks a question I relate back to a post on the forum or respond with I will ask on the EDF....It's my directory of everything and anything and long may it continue.
  22. Hi All, Im sure this subject has been covered many times but as I have never need a double buggy I have'nt bothered to read them. Actually before my family read this and get excited I'm researching for a friend! What is the best double buggy (Tandam) They have a mid range budget ?400ish, it needs to fold down to fit in small car boot, easy folding a must for grand parents. They have a little boy aged 2 and a new born 3 days ahhhhhh. Ive always thought that Phill and Ted look ok? Yor ideas, Suggestions and recomendations all gratefully received. Thanks
  23. My boys want to bring their scooters with them on holiday, I was going to dimantle them and pack them but I was wondering if you could take them on the plan? A bit like taking your buggy or car seat? Anyone tried this before? Im flying easyjet so no point calling them.
