  1. Grayson dark wood side table from John Lewis. Very handy as a small coffee table. Great condition, I'm going to buff out a few light ring marks. Available at JL for £180, will sell for £100. Collect SE22 9NQ or I can drop off locally Thanks Dan
  2. Hello, I have run out of room for this lovely chair so am selling it on. It's a Normann Copenhagen 'Herit' oak armchair with a beige plastic backing. In great condition. It's been used as an occasional desk chair and fits the purpose very well. Purchased for £225 in 2021. Asking for £150. Collect SE22 9NQ or I can drop off nearby. Thanks! Dan
  3. If anyone is following: down the side of Tesco Express near Peckham Rye Park on the Dulwich side. Clothes, textiles and shoes
  4. Can also recommend, needed a new kitchen tap and it was all done and dusted very quickly. Friendly guy. Thanks 👍
  5. Hello, I'm looking for a textile recycling bin in ED. Based on suggestions from other threads I tried the bins at North Dulwich station and Plough car park but these are specifically clothing donation bins. I need somewhere I can put 'rags' - broken jeans, old tea towels, etc Thanks
  6. Yes reported to police - case already 'closed' though.. In the end I'm fixing via insurance which will affect price down the line but simplest way to get it taken away and fixed. I've got hold of some video of same kid trying a car on Underhill Road - white, slight build, Arsenal windbreaker, balaclava. Local policing team have been made aware so we shall see..
  7. Hello, Dan here I live on Hindmans Road. I've been speaking to neighbours who have picked up some of the pieces from what appears to be an attempted theft of my car around 2pm on Monday. The driver side window is smashed and the panels around the ignition put out of place and scratched. Some have suggested it's by the same guy who has apparently tried to get into cars on other nearby roads. If anyone has more information on this please let me know - the description has been a white male 'kid' in balaclava. Thanks for all the help so far - I only got this car home last week so a very unfortunate incident. Dan P.S. If any particularly good value garages around please let me know - I have pretty much spent it all on buying the car in the first place
  8. We're dealing with this too atm but it'll be specific to your house. Plumber says ours is probably a toilet seal that's gone (apparently the noise and vibrations can get through to other appliances/taps). Or you may have air in the system - not hard to fix if you can turn off the water to your house and look up a guide online
  9. I'm going to go with some brown bags and hope for the best. Thanks for messages
  10. Hello, We're moving in 10 days or so, and so obviously didn't want to renew our garden waste subscription for this address. I did the garden before our last subscription ran out, but with all the rain/sun it's growing really fast and will probably need a chop again. Does anyone know if there is a way to get this collected beyond borrowing a neighbour's bin? (Incidentally if anybody on Landcroft Road is up for this, let me know!) I read that the brown bags are tied to one address which seems a shame as we're only moving five mins away. But wonder if that's actually how it works in practice?
  11. Nowt for at least a week now, including letters (Landcroft Rd). Maybe we're just unpopular but not even seen anyone working
  12. EDIT: Did some googling, seems this has been an issue for decades. Ignore me! 😅 New to ED so am possibly behind the curve on this ? but am already a bit bored of playing chicken with cars at the crossing of East Dulwich Grove with Lordship Lane. Seems to me it's as major a crossing as those which meet at the roundabout (which has plenty of furniture to help pedestrians cross safely) and this doesn't have any way of helping people cross. Has there not been any consideration of a crossing at this point?
  13. Hello! I recently moved to ED (Landcroft Rd) and have noticed that, despite being so close to the Crystal Palace transmitter, I've been unable to get good TV reception through our outdoor aerial or a since-purchased-and-fobbed-off indoor one (this ? one of those black flat things https://www.geargeek.co.uk/hd-indoor-antenna-aerial-50-mile-amplified/). I was wondering if being so close is actually an issue and whether there's a tried-and-tested aerial that somebody nearby could recommend for indoors? Thanks!
  14. Hello! Brand new in East Dulwich, and that means we have loads of cardboard to dispose of from various deliveries (weird moving in without going to the shops much!) and from moving. I don't have a car and bulky waste pickup is booked for weeks, so I tried to carry it down to East Dulwich Grove local recycling point (listed on Southwark's website), which a guy cleaning around the estates there helpfully informed me doesn't exist!! I then tried to book a permit for the recycling centre, but I was told on the phone that there's no walk-ins at the moment due to Covid-19. Does anybody know where I can take it? There's some mocking signs on bus stops on Lordship Lane telling me there's lots of new local recycling points but my experience so far is that they are disappearing! Thanks, and if there's any tips (Whatsapp groups, other resources) for a new resident on Landcroft Rd I'd really appreciate hearing about it!
