  1. As in like cures like,is what I said.
  2. I've always seen homeopathy and vaccines as supposedly working on same basis, like cures like, in homeopathy it is to stimulate you natural immunity, as it was with the first vaccines, the only difference i can see is the quantity. As scientist are now realising triggers for naturally healing eg placebo, I can't see why if a thought or belief can trigger a healing process why can't an essence.
  3. Thanks ianr, will check that out when i can. Researchers have been looking at the effect on people who are being told they are recieving placeb The noceba (adverse reactions) has also being looked at, more recently on chemo drug trial. Its just so hard to decipher these findings, without a medical background. Sorry edit cause put treatment instead of placebo.
  4. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/P Edit sorry not working The fascinating mechanisms and implications of the placebo effect by Luana Colloca If anyone wants to google This is an interesting link on placebo and how it is opening up a different way of recognising the healing process.(although long) I haven't read it all myself.I think all meds are partly placebo effect, as in it is much more complicated than just looking at the meds, so many different factors are at play even down to how you are trated by the practitioner, whether that be a conventional or alternatijve.
  5. Looking at medicine, whether alt or conventional, It is recognised in science as being only part of healing. The placebo effect has always fascinated me, and It shows how much our bodies can heal without intervention with meds. It very interesting to read studies looking at this.
  6. Lavender27, I agree with Sue trying to have a discussion on here seems impossible but I am interested on whether you found anything that helped.
  7. JoeLeg, It feels your dislike for this person goes beyond the selling of homeopathic pills. I Do not know this person, but it seems you do, to put so much personal information about him on this forum. It seems unfair when there may be people who know this person and this person is unaware of this thread. If this was someone posting the same info about a local chemist charging more for vaccines it would be wrong. These topics go round and round on this forum and it never gets past right or wrong, shame.
  8. Thanks tcsed, i realised my mistake when you explained before. I am aware of Ark, but was not aware of the step academy, thanks i'll hav a look. And of course Harris federation which i believe is bigger than Ark although not sure. Its great to hear of a recycling of instruments Which has great benefit to the school and ultimitly the community.
  9. Rh, As I have explained my annoyance was not Down to the fact it was an academy. I believed wrongly this was one of the schools being questioned regarding numerous high wage employees. James, there are no comprehensive, community secondary schools in Southwark, lets hope the primary schools don't go same way. If only life didn't overlap, I am a great believer in parental and communiy involvement in schools, back to the musical instruments,
  10. Sorry i'm finding it very difficult gettin info off links on Charters website. Link above not working although I coukd read it.
  11. Friends of Tcsed, Yes you are right, I assumed it was the other dulwich School because of dates. Sorry my mistake. Can you tell me if the same trust runs both dulwich schools and if there is the same shortage there, thank you. Sorry edited as was being lazy I can see there is a connectio and a hope for an expansion of academiees with other schools, very interesting. http://www.chartereastdulwich.org.uk/news/?pid=62&nid
  12. Friends of TCSED, Thanks for explaining how it came to be requested on the forum, and explaining the "apparent shortage of musical instruments". Great to hear parents and volunteers involvement within the school and creating opportuniy for individual lessons to students whilst given the community a chance to be part of that. James, as you know there were many different opinions regarding the process of this school, consultation, transparency etc.The government are having to deal now with some of the concerns raised, I was not suggesting you were charging, I asked what you meant by shortage. If there happens to be any instruments or more instruments than can be used, it may be a good idea to allow friends of tched to make connections with other schools they may already be connected with. I will definitely let people with children know.thank you James.
  13. RH I forget James is no longer our rep in local government, we have different opinions on academy schools which have been aired on this forum. I know Charter school was one of the schools questioned by government over more than one employee being paid excessive wages. I just found it offensive this academy trust is now asking locals to donate. Ilink below. https://schoolsweek.co.uk/named-the-92-academy-trusts-with-multipl
  14. James, Do you know if this a common problem in other schools within the borough. If by chance hundreds of instruments are available would you be willing to deliver to other schools if needed. Sounds like a great idea as long as there is transparency with expenditure, is buying instruments a problem for the charter school.
  15. James I'm puzzled when you say "apparently they have a shortage of musical instruments". Have you been told this is the case and if so by whom. After millions have been spent on this school are you saying there is no money to buy instruments.
  16. https://theartofhealing.com.au/herbs-horsetail.html Minitoots, Horsetail is another herb good for lowering cholestral, link above tells you the benefits of silicon, Horsetail is known for being rich in silicon. It was growing in abundance this summer in Peckham Rye park.
  17. Sorry minitoots, I didn't mean to hijack thread. Hawthorn is a good herb but has to be considered if taken with certain prescription pills, it can be drunk as a tea. I also believe fasting balances the body. Good luck.
  18. Yes Rendal isn't it so easy to categorise people and make assumptions whilst doing what you accuse others of. This thread is about looking at alternatives.
  19. Rh because they have been proven guilty of the issue which you mentioned regarding false marketing. This was one of the reasons you gave on your mistrust for this guy (i have still not read link) . It is also one reason i would prefer not to take statins, not the only reason, I saw it in relation to your concern but did not go into any other reasons as i felt it would have been off topic.
  20. DaveR, I'm sure there are many reasons people prefer not to take statins, I did not suggest otherwise. As false markettling was brought up, I mentioned it is common with pharmaceuticals, are you suggesting this is not.
  21. RH sorry but I only asked how you felt about the pharmaceuticals as you mentioned about false marketing, I didn't ask for a list Of everything you don't believe, i just wondered since you mentioned it if you felt the same about pharmaceuticals behaving in the same way, albeit it on a much bigger scale.
  22. Rendalharris, you will find of the 5 statins prescribed In UK, Atorvastin (lipitor) makers Pfizer Fluvastatin (lescol) made by Novartis Pravastatin (lupostat) made byBristol-Meyer Sqibb Rosuvastatin (Cresto) made by Astro Zeneca Everyone of these Pharmaceutical companies have been fined millions for illegal, misleading, false advertising. Everyone of them. Do you feel these companies words can be trusted, or do you also feel there advice should be taken with a sackful of salt. I do not know nor have ever heard of him and i haven't read the link, it just seems strange you should point out the false marketing accusations, when these companies have paid billions after being found guilty for that very chatge. Simvastin (zocon) made by Merck
  23. Malumba, just noticed your op, renovations had begun, It would be interesting to know if the owners recieved any funding from local council for this. Or how much southwark council fund and follow up in these circumstances.
  24. There may be active intervention by Southwark council regarding this empty house, if not there should be. I suppose it depends if they are aware how long it has been empty. Southwark council have a record of being one of the boroughs with a high number of empty social housing. I have no idea how they manage the private housing, regarding empty houses, although there are laws in place to intervene.

    Bullying case

Blah Blah I feel it is a bigger problem than what money can do, regardless of where it comes from, i do not think it is more important we come across as a country that is giving and caring, it is more important something must be done. I realise people are refusing to accept schools have not been transparent on there confusion over how to deal with dangerous behaviour. Parents and brave teachers determination to support and not accept what is happening shows we care and although it may seem it has fallen on deaf ears, it has brought out many horrendous situations that were hidden. I know anyone can set up a gofundmepage, it just worries me it takes away the bigger picture.
