Dog walker kicked dog on Champion Hill

Well said. -
Unfortunately, this hero of cats is long gone............

My old cat caught and devoured a Squirrel in its entirety. He also squared up to a large fox, actively looking for a rumble.

Michaels Newsagents - Corner of Hindmans and Underhill Road Lovely aggressive beast, putting in some graft!

I don't think it is appropriate to name tbh........... There was a previous thread where someone named an individual on Hansler Road...........I think it was taken down....

More fly-tipping on the corner of Barry, near Barry Stores...... Stupidly the address of the individual is on the package living on Barry Road. Large box from Sky Glass, I have reported to the council and sent details of the Miss J L xxxx Incredible Richard.

Does anyone know this person. We have some important mail that has been delivered incorrectly. I have posted back several letters, marking "not known at this address", however the mail keeps on coming, it is marked "Urgent for addressee only" possibly a legal or medical letter? I am happy to keep sending it back, but this has been going on for over a year!

Franklins is a great restaurant, but City prices........... -

Poo in the Park (and on the streets)
BillyOcean replied to TreforL's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-62610727 "There has been a "sharp rise" in the number of dogs being abandoned as the cost-of-living crisis deepens, a rescue centre has said. Hope Rescue Centre in Rhondda Cynon Taf said it had taken 300 calls in the past three months about pets. The centre said it was caused by a "perfect storm" of an increase in dog ownership during lockdown alongside the cost-of-living crisis. In the year after the first lockdown, UK households bought 3.2 million pets." And a year ago, before the 'cost of living crisis': https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-58996017 "Covid: Dogs bought in lockdown being abandoned" Hardly conclusive, BBC Wales. Thank you though. -
Poo in the Park (and on the streets)
BillyOcean replied to TreforL's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I have heard this several times, but cannot see any evidence of it? I have a dog and always carry and their poo. In the Rye have approached about 10 people asking if they needed a poo bag, when not picking up their dogs poo. The responses are normally "oh did he / she do a poo, I didn't realise as I am a business person on my phone" Have found this approach a lot less confrontational, as people tend to have shorter fuses early in the morning. -
I pick up my dogs poo.........I have also been known to run home and boil a kettle if particularly soft!! If I see someone not picking up poo, I just politely ask them if they would like a poo bag!

Yes. It happens. We ordered Deliveroo "Bang Burgers" once on a Friday at 6pm. They turned up at 9.30pm.... We refused to accept them and got a refund. Luckily we had some pizzas in the freezer. These companies get so busy at peak times and the service drops. We still use them, but are more likely to order collection from Meat Liquor or Yamo etc....

I normally take my dog between 7.30 and 8am. I have stopped going recently, as I am tired of washing my silly dog.... Goose Green seems to be less muddy......once the good weather starts, I will be back.

Dog getting ill - Walking in the Rye
BillyOcean replied to BillyOcean's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Update. My dog was released from the vet yesterday evening, after a day of investigation and being on an IV...... She is on antibiotics and anti sickness meds. She was very sleepy last night and this morning she was waiting and wagging her tail... All back. The vet said every test they carried out was clear, at great expense..... So it must have been a bug or a virus. She has responded so well to antibiotics. Thank you to all for your concern and help. -

My dog was admitted this morning......... I am hoping she will be okay........ Terrible few days. The vet and receptionist did suggest there was a nasty bug going around..... Thank you for all your help and advice. -
Dog getting ill - Walking in the Rye
BillyOcean replied to BillyOcean's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Thank you Penguin. There is so much rubbish in the Rye, my dog has found human vomit, a raw chicken and a dead pigeon in the past..............I think I won't be letting her off the lead......! The vet thinks its a virus or something that will pass. 24 hours in, she is still no better. -

Thank you for that information. There has been no vomiting, just a lack of appetite and energy now. Very concerned. -
Dog getting ill - Walking in the Rye

I guess I am looking for anyone who has had or heard of similar experiences? I am concerned about poison or a particular virus? -
Dear all, I am a concerned dog owner, I have a lovely, lively Cockapoo and after a morning stroll in the Rye, my dog has been having serious diarrhoea and has stopped eating and become very tired in her bed. I have taken her to the vet twice now and they have taken blood, but can't diagnose anything. I am concerned that she may have ingested something, and wondered if anyone else has had a similar experience. All advice greatly received. James.
