  1. yes and no sign of anyone at the repair works for 2 days now (tho the sign says expected finish date 7th dec)
  2. crikey - its a long road - any idea whereabouts?
  3. what a great idea!!! this is a great place for unusual pieces so really recommend supporting them!!!
  4. now there's an idea. walking thru the village this morning around 11.30 and the main road was completely chock full towards east dulwich grove - across the junction with turney. i just don't get it? would love to hear what all the residents of Dulwich village actually feel about it. Should also add that the road was completely blocked at around 2.30 on sunday afternoon so clearly nothing to do with the school run - again tailing back to the mini roundabout. some residents and businesses on east dulwich grove have already expressed their serious concern, but I suspect the council is unwilling to actually 'hear' them. Councillor James has bravely made some conciliatory noises but is not in a position to do anything.
  5. Sorry just want to add that visited Suzanne James' place on Northcross Road for a roast - wonderful food and extremely responsible environment.
  6. I think most local pubs are being very strict with the new regs. GE were keen to check household bubble etc and the 6 to a table, The Herne have the sanitise on entry, zap the track and trace, facemasks etc - plus only family groups inside and tables of 6 outside. Their garden is pretty large so tables well spaced. I have not been to a 'spoons' so cannot report on their response, but I feel that most pubs in East Dulwich are being very careful to maintain all their customers safety.
  7. will keep em peeled hope he's home safe and sound very soon - what area was he lost from (or did he do a houdini from home?)
  8. The Herne Tavern are very organised and have a large garden for non family groups of up to 6
  9. what an utterly revolting thread.
  10. the problem is that if there is an alternative to public transport right now, we are going to take it. There is no way I am getting on a bus/train if i can avoid it. unfortunatey this is why TFL are in dire straights right now - nothing to do with mismanagement but a period of little or zero income of people fearful of using public transport
  11. the problem is the council will not take any notice and will produce some bizarre twisted figures to negate any real concerns. Residents (low value) and businesses (small independants) can go to the wall because someone, somewhere, who has no actual involvement or personal investment in this area gives a toss or actually is interested in the community. We are a 'nimbies' who can be discounted and ignored. I read councillor James's post - a very good one in acknowledging the real concerns of the neighbourhood but beautifully skirts really addressing the problem - a true politician. He is making the right noises but actually commits to nothing as he has to tow the party line. This is why we need independant councillors (the problem is they are usually loons who have been booted out of a party for being unacceptable in some way). A bit of hang wringing on James' part but no committment to sorting out the problem - and tbh he hasn't got a hope in hell anyway. we saw that with the CPZ. majority said no, but it was implemented anyway.
  12. a wonderful analysis of the problem on the youtube video
  13. Dulwich village total gridlock once again - it?s not moving at all - lights are changing but no one is going anywhere.
  14. its a disaster
