Hello, Random post alert. If your cat is called Audrey & you came into our house last night on Bawdale Road to rescue her from the roof, she is back again, although this time, looking very comfortable on our garden table having a sleep. Just wanted to let you know in case you were missing her again. Julia

We've accepted a place at herne hill school for our son to start in reception this September. Anyone else out there who is in the same position as I would like him to meet a few of his fellow class mates before starting as he is quite shy? Thanks Julia

This is what my 5 month old son had last week. Started with bad cough for 2 days and then fever and generally unwell. Think we are over the worst of it now. Lots of cuddles, lots of milk (takes ages for him to drink as stopping to cough), saline spray for nose to help him breathe, sleeping with mattress elevated and calpol is how we got through. My other son hasn't caught it (yet). I think a sling is the way forward as suggested above. It was a tough week and imagine it would be even harder with a baby so young. Hope you and baby are on the mend soon. Congratulations by the way on the new arrival.

Hello, Does anyone have any feedback they would be happy to provide on St. Dunstans? We are considering it for reception next year and I'm keen to get some feedback from existing parents? Please feel free to PM me, if you prefer. Thanks

Hi Matt, We used a company called image casting for both our sons. They will one to you house to do the casts and it takes about 4 weeks to get the final product sent. I was impressed with their service. Thx Julia

Emergency babysitter/nanny agencies - recommendations?
julia2009 replied to Clare11's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I've also used sitters a few times and found them to be really good. The sitter you book is happy to come along and meet you directly before the booking so you are comfortable with them and your child is too. Julia -
Hello everyone, Congratulations Rachael! Erika & everyone else, Toby & I are up for meeting up on Thursday afternoon in ED! As there is likely to be a few of us, shall we say the bishop as there is plenty of room in there during week days? Look forward to seeing everyone & meeting the new arrivals as well as those bumps! Gina Ford potty training - does it work?
julia2009 replied to Lochie's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I was reluctant to start potty training as didn't know where to begin, then nursery brought it up and said I should bring spare clothes in for my son and he started training there during the week. As there were a few of them training at once, he went to the toilet no problem (already hated the potty at home) In the first week he only had a few accidents. It took about 2 weeks for him to use the toilet at home too (we got a new seat for the toilet at home that has a small seat within it, so he could sit on the big toilet). This was all in December when he was 2.5 yrs old and last week, he announced he didn't want to wear a nappy at night and that seems to be that...In our case the peer pressure worked a treat as his friends were using the toilet. At home giving him stickers/watching fireman sam in the bathroom on the laptop worked so that he felt the whole thing was fun....as he is due to have a little brother this week, this could all change! -
For any ladies who are around during the week, a couple of us who are already off on maternity leave are planning to meet at mine so we can sit in the garden tomorrow/Thursday 24th at 130pm to enjoy some of this nice weather we are having. If you would like to come along, please send me a PM and I will send you my address. This is all assuming that junior doesn't make an appearance this evening of course! Have a nice day Julia xx
