One of my favourite things to do when my kids were under 1 was going to the cinema once a week (at the time, it was Peckhamplex. One of my favourites was Black Swan. It was such a great relief to be able to sit with my (usually sleeping or nursing) baby (who had absolutely no idea or care what was on the screen) and do something properly grown up that I enjoy. It would be such a shame for that not to be the case.

Hello, I've just booked an appointment today with a place that used to get rave reviews, but recently saw a one star review saying the stylist had changed and not to go there.. My daughter has been really looking forward to a hair cut today, and now I'm not so sure I can trust the one I've booked! Problem is, I'm not sure who to trust? What is a good hairstylist that is also available at short notice? Please help! Thanks very much, Rachel

Yes, it's crazy! I called the doctor to see if there's any way to find out who has them, and they just said I need to call around. Unfortunately I can't really take an alternative. I've finally found one that has 17 days worth, so I'm going to run before they get taken before me. 🙂 I had called 30 different pharmacies in South London, madness.

Hello! I'm just wondering if anyone has information on who owns the empty property, Kenro Press? I've seen online that whoever owns it have asked for planning permission to change it to a residence, rather than business (February this year), but wondering if anyone knows more? Thanks in advance :).

Apologies, I’m really not sure where this post should go! I’m in urgent need of live mealworms for our pet lizard, preferably tomorrow morning. Urgency due to accidental spillage and eat-age by dog of previous mealworms. Any advice on where to get them? Preferably somewhere local! Thanks in advance Rachel

Hello, My son will be starting secondary school at East Dulwich Charter this September, and I'm wondering if there's anywhere to buy second hand uniform? They all seem a bit steep to me and I can't imagine there aren't places to buy used uniform? Any advice greatly received. Many thanks

Part time nursery for 3 year old?

They've moved to New Cross. That's where my other two went! -
Hello, My 3 yo will be starting nursery in January, but I?d really rather he didn?t start full days straight away, as he?s been home with me up until now. Are there any local nurseries that allow you to send your child for half days, rather than the full 6 hours? Thanks in advance

Southwark Foodbank always need plastic bags to pack food in for people. They?re always short! -
Hi, we?ve just realised we?re missing two scooters from our house. We think they might have been left outside our front door yesterday evening. They are much loved and much missed!! One is a macro red scooter, the other is a micro bright pink scooter with a purple pony head and lots of beads on it. If you picked them up or have seen them please let us know! Thank you.

Buds pre school at goose green church

We love Buds. My son went from age 3 till he went to school, and my daughter goes there now (she's just about to turn 4). Both kids absolutely loved it and really bonded with all the teachers. Very friendly, playful atmosphere! -

What?s your toddler?s bedtime routine?
radnrach replied to emza78's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I'm so glad to read this thread... Bedtime is a massive struggle and I have to a admit I tend to dread it.. My son is 2 1/2. We start with bathtime (he usually plays in there for aaaaaages) and to get him out I have to take the plug out and wait for ages till I can convince him that it's too cold to stay in. Followed by chasing around trying to dress him without a fight. I've recently taken to holding him down through the screaming and squirming and just getting it done (I'm 37 weeks preg so this is a challenge), after that it's storytime with his blankeky and monkey.. we usually read about 4 books but he always tries for more. After that, light off and songs and then into bed. The last week or so we've had screaming fits once he goes into bed and it takes about half an hour for him to actually sleep. He tends to drink milk out of a sippy cup throughout bathtime/dressing time and then we brush his teeth before storytime. I've become really paranoid about him brushing teeth before milk, although I know it would help him sleep better if he could have milk right before bedtime during storytime. When does this phase end??
