maybe because I am tired and sensitive today and that is why the planes are bugging me.

I have just realised today how bad the planes are here, I bought my flat last year and today I have really felt this horrendous noise...I am sick of it, can nothing be done?

I think tne reason I tend to go to gay venues is because I feel I can be myself and I have to say I dont think I would enjoy a night out in East Dulwich with my partner. I only tend to go to straight places with family or work colleagues. I do not wish to ghetto myself but the weekend in East Dulwich is very much a 'straight' cliental.

I have to say I agree in part with some of the postings but Lordship Lane on a weekend or Thurs night can be very straight and I see this in general with the EDT, Black Cherry and the other bar which I cannot remember on the corner. The Rye is probarly the most gay friendly of the bars in the area though.

My second posting in two days. I just wanted to know what people would think if a gay bar opened in Lordship Lane, is there room for one? with the promixity to Vauxhall many guys go there, many guys go to the centre or many just drink in local watering holes. The question is would a gay bar work in Dulwich or not? I would like to see one personally.

I have lived in East Dulwich/Peckham Rye borders now for over 18 months, I really liked Lordship Lane and East Dulwich for about a year but over the past six months its just become boring and bland. I just wanted to know if others have felt this, Camberwell seems to be more edgy and arty these days.

I did not say all Mothers, I said some....again people taking it out of context.

I am gay and not against children, I love children but I believe that public houses are not a place for small children. I am glad this posting has got the people of ED talking, I wonder what the yummy mummies would think if a gay bar opened in ED and men were kissing each other, I am sure some of them would complain about that. I live ED and despite the fact I do go out in Vauxhall and Soho I would like to go for a drink in my local pub withoout a five year old screaming the house down at eight in the evening or a mother breastfeeding her baby. There is a time and a place for all of this.

There is a time and a place for babies and children and is not in a pub. Yummy Mummies should realise this obviously some of you are dont. I would not want to live in Vauxhall with a crowd of gay guys everywhere.

I have to say I really used to enjoy living in East Dulwich and going to Lordship Lane on a Saturday but I am now had enough. The main problem I have is the extent of the Yummy Mummy culture in Dulwich, all I ever see in Lordship Lane is prams, young mothers and babies in pubs. Last night my partner and I were in the Clock House in Barry Road and there were babies in there together with young children screaming the house down, I dont understand how you can take a small child into a pub on a weekday evening. The whole of the Lordship Lane and the area has just been taking over by Yummy mummies and the joy of having a civilised drink has now gone. I am not against children far from it but this Yummy Mummy culture has changed Dulwich.

I would like to say that one's sexuality does not matter when you go into a bar or pub, I go to the Uplands with my boyfriend for dinner and its lovely, the service is good and the food wholesome and I dont feel left out, but I have never been into a pub by myself in Lordship Lane yet, so i look forward to having a new local pub in the PRPG.

I am finally moving into my new flat next weekend and the Rye will be my local pub. Is it a good pub? and more importantly is it gay friendly?

Are the gay drinks still happening at the Rye? It will soon be my local so I was wondering if anybody is up for reviving the gay drinks at the Rye?

Did I miss the drinks on the 2nd? I had just returned from Madrid and did not get home until gone 10pm. I went into the Rye for dinner on Thursday with my man. It seemed quite rustic and oldey worldy but nice with candles etc. Would be keen to come to the next drinks.

God know but it looked like a chilled out place so on my return from Madrid I will come along.
