  1. I think he wants everyone to hand over their 7 bedroom houses to the new revolutionary peoples collective to fund their continuing struggle to overthrow the oppressive regime that is the BBC. As I speak they're harping on about a 'heatwave' another blatant piece of misinformation designed to distract us from their true intentions I'm sure.
  2. That's right, less facts, more wild speculation please.
  3. *bemused at the goings on, flips through a pocket guide to British Pub Etiquette.....gives up, throws book in bin* *fetches a cold beer and settles down in a comfy chair in the corner instead*
  4. That's the medical one again, same as the one the other day.
  5. I'll join if you have snappy name, I'll even supply my own sack full of door knobs. ...hey why's next doors cat inside-out?
  6. *enters room, narrowly avoids being smacked in the head by a flying stick, then is almost bowled over by a fast moving fury blur chasing said stick* *recovers composure only to stumble over empty gin bottle rolling around the floor*
  7. pfft, that's nothing, New Zealand sheep do that with out any herding :)
  8. yeah we're on Barry road just near Goodrich, was pretty surprised to look out the window to see a 'copter hovering just above the trees on the road. Hope it all turns out ok.
  9. It's all cleared up now, Barry Road is open again. The air ambulance had a go at landing on the road by our house then gave up and headed for the park by the looks of it.
  10. Maybe he wandered in by mistake and was immediately trapped by swarming Foxtons agents.....he's probably still trapped in there now, poor sod.
  11. Ah thanks for that Applespider, I didn't know that, will keep it in mind though :)
  12. Yeah I would like to know what the official word is about transferring to another bus if you get kicked off early, it seems wrong that you should have to pay twice. Back in my home town in NZ the buses let you transfer to as many buses you like within a half hour, which I think is a great idea, but will probably be too detrimental to their prepay income to introduce something similar here.
  13. With my limited inside knowledge on the subject, as far as I know it usually happens when buses start getting too close together/bunched up, the controllers at the bus garages will tell a bus to change where it terminates and turn around or wait a bit to even out the spread of buses. ...still very annoying, especially if you're using pre-pay...grrrr
  14. ...how about an Italian BBQ in the park? I thought one needed a passport to enter East Dulwich to keep the rift-raft out, hence the boys in blue racing up and down Barry Road at great speed responding to reports of unlawful boarder crossings (and possibly free donuts at the bakeries)
  15. Well at least you didn't write in and ask where you can buy a copy of Duke Nukem Forever....check out the letter of the week at the end of this weeks review Bionic Commando Review Have to say Alan Wake looks pretty good, will keep an eye out for it when it comes out.
  16. Always thought he was a bit wet behind the ears....
  17. The guys a legend, since discovering him via this forum I look forward to his weekly reviews, guarenteed to cheer me up no end :) ...and I have to agree with mockney piers, I think he's generally spot on with most of his reviews....although I am a fan of RTS games which he seems to loath.
  18. I've only been into Boss Man a couple of times but to have found them friendly and like their selection of imported beer (I have an unstoppable urge to buy and try new beers when I see them).....but I'm new here so what do I know ;) Will have to check out Barry Off License sometime too, haven't ventured down that end of Barry rd much as yet.
  19. lol, thanks Andystar, after getting the bad news from the mechanic this morning that has cheered me up no end, I'm still laughing :) .....and no, it wasn't about the horn in my car, that still works.....I think..... *looks into empty wallet with concern* Anyways I should say hi to everyone here, my wife and I moved to ED about 3 months ago and are loving it here (you even have decent weather here :) We have been lurking around the forum a bit but thought it was high time we actually started taking part
  20. lol ....ah I love the English press, you just wouldn't get headlines like that back home....that's made my day :)
  21. ah fair enough, it's sad that some people use others good will for their own gain. A while ago Mrs Kiwi helped out a young Italian girl with map directions (in central London) only to find that she had nicked her phone out of her jacket pocket in the process, and the other week I give bus fare to a fella who approached me in a shop and seem genuine at the time only to be told by the shop keeper (who only noticed him as he walked out) that he had seem him around a bit with the same story. ...but still I think it's best not to be too cynical, I'd like to think that most people who ask for help are genuine...
  22. Bedford.....the Greek Embassy is in Holland Park, why would she need to goto Bedford?
