  1. That can actually happen? I mean I believe you but just didn't realise the DVD drive lasers were powerful enough to do that :( Will be getting it myself at some point, played the demo a couple of times and like the look of it. Arma II looks awesome too, think my laptop will snuff it if I try to play it though....I miss my gaming rig *sigh*

  3. I am slightly concerned about the sinister looking gentlemen sitting in the corner sipping vodka while glaring at the people worshiping at the Daniel Craig shrine. I'm sure I saw them fiddle with syringes filled with some sort of radioactive isotope a moment ago...
  4. ditto...
  5. Long lost brothers perhaps?
  6. Not quite gaming, but still funny (and not that far from the truth) Daily Mash

  8. *Walks into the room, stops and stares in confusion at the Daniel Craig shrine that has appeared in the center of the room* *Walks back out and checks the sign on the door* *Shrugs, walks back into the room, helps self to a Martini (shaken, not stirred)*
  9. Quite a few around I think, the Plough does one on Thursdays, they've just changed the format but was alright last time we were there. Think the Crown & Greyhound in the village does one on Sundays too.
  10. Poetic justice? Royal Mail Strike Ballot to be conducted by post...

  13. Think I've seen these fellas....pale faces, big red noses, large floppy shoes, baggy trousers?
  14. It looked to me like it was over the circus.....I reckon it's those damn clowns again.
  15. Manuka is a native bush in New Zealand and tends to grow pretty much everywhere. I was stunned at the price of Manuka honey over here but then again the only stuff they seem to have in the supermarkets is this UMF stuff, which I guess you must get back in NZ too but generally Manuka honey is just nice honey that will set you back a couple of quid in the supermarkets. Personally I think this whole UMF thing is just a bit of a have to up the price.

  19. Blimey even ol Yahtzee says it's good, might have to check it out sometime.....he does raise a good point in the credits tho, how do they signal batman if they need him during the day.....

Arrrgghh, what's with the 'Medium' difficulty level? It's suddenly gone from 'not too bad' to 'oh my f***ing god'

  22. Here you go... Sorting office phone number Generally Royal Mail seem pretty good at leaving cards, but I have had a situation where a card was not left, and also one where a blank card was left (both outside East Dulwich). I think if you contact the office and have the correct ID they will let you pick up any packages without a card if you explain the situation.
  23. In New Zealand the term 'Asian' tends to refer to people of what I guess you would call (for lack of a better definition) Asian-Pacific origin, e.g. people from China, Japan, Vietnam, Malaysia, etc, etc. When I first arrived in the UK it took me a wee while to get my head around the fact 'Asian' included Indian, Pakistanis, etc. Other kiwis I have spoken to have found the same thing. I guess that in NZ most 'Asian' immigrants are from the Asian-Pacific area, hence we associate the word with these countries. It does raise the question of what we'd call someone from the rest of Asia if we weren't sure of their country of origin...probably (wrongly) Indian. Just some useless info to throw into the discussion, and I'm sure other kiwis are more enlightened than myself and have always taken the broader view of the word.
  24. It seems that the bendy buses are more of a perceived danger than an actual danger on the roads (well statistically at least), even ol Boris has come clean about this, although it does seem to only refer to cyclist rather than all road users and pedestrians. Boris's Bendy Bus Jihad
  25. We had the same thing, one arrived today, the first I have ever seen. Pity it was only one copy and there are 2 flats in our place.
