  1. I have searched the Southwark site and this thread and I cannot find the data and collection details supporting the decreased traffic counts, increase in cycling and reductions of pollution the council claims are the effect of the LTNs. Would someone share the direct links to the relevant report/data?

Very strange. Are other distances ?wrong? on Google maps for you? Try measuring the length of the lido and see if it says 50m.
  3. To what looks like the Charter ED gate on Jarvis Rd. I?m measuring to Bawdale.
  4. Are you converting miles to meters correctly? I get a difference of a few meters between what I'm measuring on Google maps and what the site says (643m vs 650m).
  5. Puddleducks. Nunhead.
  6. Beckenham Spa Cindy?s swim school Possibly tigersharks They don?t really do lessons at 2 - just a bit of getting used to the water and splashing about, which you could do yourself at any family session if you are able to get in the water. If not, is there a suitable friend or relative who could be persuaded?
  7. They say somewhere in the documentation that they use specialist software. Google maps is very accurate though - I?ve just measured Brockwell Lido at 50.02m and I think the extra 2cm is probably my sloppy pin positioning.
  8. Did you want to organise 1:1s? Dulwich College Sports Club 020 8299 9292 https://www.dcsportsclub.co.uk/freelance-swimming/ And JAGS Sports Club 020 8613 6500 will give you some mobile numbers for teachers for private lessons
  9. Is the data for sixth form admissions for a Charter North broken down by admissions criteria available anywhere that anyone knows of? I?ve searched and can?t find it. I am trying to work out how many places might be available to children on the distance criteria for 2022 and wanted to use past years as a guide. I appreciate that last year was atypical and there is now the further complication of ED Charter. Nevertheless. Thanks in advance.
  10. We used DocTap https://doctap.co.uk/ they have a clinic at London Bridge.

I'd check the financing options from Apple. You can buy in interest free instalments and you can also buy it on a scheme whereby you're effectively renting your iPhone from them so you get an annual upgrade and applcare tossed in. Not sure of the pricing but that and a SIM only deal might be cheaper and better long run than going back to contract. I'm on Plusnet and get 5GB of data and unlimited calls and texts for ?7/month. Underlying carrier is EE. I've personally had no problems with reception - I'm just off the Lane.

Forest Hill is run by Better, not Everyone Active, so I haven?t ever tried there. The other local-ish EA pools don?t seem to have this problem, or at least not to the same extent. Try Peckham if you can get over there. 37 bus? Loads of open spaces - even for today. Or Camberwell (gets booked up too, but you can normally find a session 2 to 3 days ahead) or the Castle Centre (generally good availability but they hire out the entire pool quite a lot) - both direct on the 176. Hopefully they will all go back to open timetabled sessions soon. I heard October from staff at the Queen Mum, but I don?t think they actually know any more than we do!

But then when you go to the session, it's typically less than half full. But unfortunately, this is a Dulwich specific problem.
  14. That's a very good point about those times tables!
  15. In primary school, outside of all important daily reading, homework isn't for the benefit of the children, it's to manage the anxiety of parents. Between ourselves and our friends we have had everything from Heber (no homework to speak of) to Herne Hill and JAGS (couple of hours every single night). I have to say, it's made absolutely no difference whatsoever at secondary school, and we're all now at GCSEs (or beyond). It's natural to worry about the transition to secondary, but the timing of it (turning 11) is, not by accident, at the time of an absolute sea change in kids' cognitive abilities. They wake up one day towards the end of year 5 / beginning of year 6 and, sadly, your baby has gone and this new thing who looks like your baby is in its body. The voice may even be the same, but emotionally and psychologically you are dealing with a different and altogether more sophisticated being. The good news is that it turns out the new 'them' is even more entertaining than the old 'them'! And they'll cope just fine with year 7. At the risk of sounding dreadfully patronising (and sincere apologies if so), I'd say you can forget your concerns, enjoy the early years - they're over too quickly - your local primary knows what it's doing (they'd soon get a reputation if they were sending kids to secondary unprepared), the transition to secondary will be fine, and so will you and yours.

They seem to have gone out of their way to make the information difficult to find. Rest assured, it's not just you. That info is very well hidden!
  17. I think everything you need is on this page https://www.everyoneactive.com/centre/dulwich-leisure-centre/ Class timetables and prices are here https://www.everyoneactive.com/centre/dulwich-leisure-centre/?activitySearch=group%20exercise Click on the + signs to open up more information It is very badly organised, but the information you want is there, I think.
  18. No Sue. You haven't.
  19. There have been only two collisions in the last ten years on Whateley Road, each of them involving one casualty, both incidents recorded as 'slight' in severity.

The road _is_ narrower at that pinch point with less space for two vehicles to pass each other (be they buses or other traffic) than at that junction than previously. I don't think buses passing each other on Whateley Road, was, is, or will be a problem, regardless of the actual service frequency of the P13. I support the zebra. I think it'll make some parents feel reassured enough to allow some younger kids to walk all the way to school by themselves. I think the pavement build out at the junction east of the zebra is a ridiculous waste of money, and very poorly designed.

The new curbs will > not take up as much road space as the parked cars > which they displace. It was demonstrated to me > that it will actually improve the road for the > P13s by providing this much needed passing place . As the drawing I've linked to shows, the build out is wider than the space a parked car would take up (unless you've got Jeremy Clarkson's Lamborghini tractor, of course). I don't know what Jedi mind trick they were trying to pull when they sent you measurements, but as far as I know a narrower road space will make it harder for two buses to pass each other. Unless perhaps the buses are also being narrowed. However, as you are more likely to see a tiger on Whateley Road than a P13, let alone two at the same time, buses passing each other probably isn't really an issue. The lake that will be created whenever there's a heavyish bit of rain, and the fact that you can't see what you're doing when trying to navigate turning from Fellbrigg into Whateley or from Whateley into Fellbrigg, will however I fear be an issue.
  22. According to the data on crashmap, there have been 2 incidents on that stretch of road in the last ten years. One involving 1 vehicle and 1 casualty and 1 involving 2 vehicles and 1 casualty. In both cases the severity of the incident is recorded as 'slight'. As such, I do not think there was a strong 'safety' rationale for this project.
  23. The bit on Fellbrigg, with the planter - now full of soil - is on an angle which I would estimate is about 10 deg. It looks like something Basil Fawltey's builder would do.
  24. Details here https://www.southwark.gov.uk/assets/attach/49176/whateley-road-new-zebra-crossing-notice-dated-15-july-2021-.pdf It looks like the notice for this was posted 15th July. As far as I am aware there was no consultation (I guess there doesn't have to be?) about the plans. I have absolutely no objection to a zebra on Whateley (I know lots of people have asked for one over the years) but the whole scheme is completely over the top. The pavement widening is madness - just wholly impractical. On the west side (the bit nearer LL) they have built it to the camber of the road. But there's no draining or new gully where it meets the pavement. Where is rain water supposed to go? It's really badly designed. Couldn't they have just put the zebra in, and left it at that? Or is it just me? Am I missing some benefits of the rest of it?
