Hi James, Whilst signs are posted on Goose Green can some also be put on the children's playground too? I often spend my time closing the (2) gates which are often left open (I assume by excited kids who forget to close the gate after them), having a speeding toddler in there when its busy can be tricky! Thanks, Emily
  2. I did'nt recognise the pub they went to, does anyone else? It looked quite nice.....
  3. Don't go out late!
  4. I changed washing powder to Ecover liquid (and now use Ecover powder) and def. no fabric conditioner in my daughter's washing. Her eczema has not been seen since!

I have just contacted someone about something for sale on the family classifieds via PM and when i went back to see the original post, it had gone? Then I look for other o=posts from that user and they all seem to have disappeared... Can you tell why? Thanks, Em
  6. yes they do - i seem to be 2 sizes smaller in them...
  7. okay just to clarify: At present my little girl is just one of two mindees at the childminders (she believes that a 2:1 ratio is best) and when my little girl goes to nursery it will be more like 3:1, infact i think its just over 3:1 She will be assigned a keyworker at nursery but I imagine it will not be anything like the attention or emotional bond she has with her current childminder..... I swing wildly between thinking that the nursery (which is one that I liked since the day I saw it) would be absolutely fine for her now and staying with the childminder that she has known for the past year and is like a second mum to her!?!?! Anyway thanks for all your responses. Em
  8. I have just been told that my daughter has got a place at a nursery school when she turns 2. Currently she goes to a wonderful childminder 3 days a week and I thought (due to waiting lists) she wouldnt be offered a place for at least another 6-8 months. We have been told that if we don't take the place we will not be offered another one before next Sept (when she will be 3).... TBH it feels a little too early but waiting another 12 months seems too long? argh.... Just hoping that the wealth of good knowledge on the forum can help us decide... Opinions please..... Thanks very much. Em
  9. theres a multiplex cinema in peckham (it has a differnet vibe than the Ritzy) but does cheap screenings....

  13. Sorry should have been clearer: Ecover non bio laundry liquid: http://www.ecover.com/gb/en/Products/Laundry/Concentrated+Non-Biological+Laundry+Liquid.htm but i think any liquid that can be easilly diluted in in the water (as opposed to powder) would be sufficient. and no fabric conditioner at all (apparently fabric conditioner is really not good for the skin, it leaves something on the clothes which can be an irritant to skin?). I did a fair bit of 'googling' at the time of my daughter's outbreak and after reading a few things thought it would be worth a go! There were a couple of articles about fabric conditioner!
  14. We had the same and thought it was cows milk, intolerance to foods etc nad the doctor did some tests and said there was no obvious food group intolerances and prescribed junior oilatum, epaderm and .5% hydrocortisone cream. Since we started using all of the lotions and potions the eczema has disappeared BUT I also stopped using washing powder and fabric condioner in all of her washes and in our bed linen, and i think this is what has really made the difference. So in the last 6 months (she is now 18 months) I have reduced the use of the oilatum and epaderm and stopped the hydrocortisone cream at least 4 months ago and the eczema hasnt come back. A couple of weeks ago I had run out of the washing liquid i use for her washing (Ecover) and so washed her stuff in our usual washing powder, she seemeed fine, then we noticed she was getting the eczema back at the weekend. It could be totally coincidental that this has happened, but I don't think so! Good luck, - its horrible to see them so uncorfortable!
  15. They have missed one: Test 15: Changing a toddler's nappy: Give live octopus (from dressing test) some E numbers and cover with ants. Try and take off dirty nappy without covering everything in it's contents. Whilst trying to keep hyperactive octopus still, wipe its bum, still trying not to cover everything in sight with contents of nappy. Then try to put clean nappy on whilst octopus tries to get away. Repeat this last step at least 4 times, and in that time try not to let octopus wee. P.S. mkae sure dirty nappy isnt in reach of one of the octopus's arms as it will want to smear contents on anything to hand. If you have managed to get into a nappy bag then the octopus might want to run around the house with the bag (as if its a trophy handbag) shouting 'poo'. You may find it a couple of hours later under the newspapers on the coffee table?!
  16. Another +1 for the fitting studio. I have been to see her 3 times during pregnancy, breast feeding and then deflation old puppy dogs ears*, and everytime she has fitted me with something that fits properly and actually looks like a nice bra! *sorry, probably too much info....
  17. Ted, I think the only way you will be able to gain an answer to your question is to maybe post a photo of yourself in said uniform, on here, and let the people vote...? And when divising the questionaire it could be good to have more than just a few options.... as we know things are very rarely just yes or no!
  18. Barking!
  19. I can understand that you would want to avoid awkward positions... that could be tricky, not to mention, uncomfortable, for all involved!
  20. how hard?
  21. I have to agree, I prefer my determined, independent, strong willed 18 month old daughter where I can see her when it comes to being out and about. I have bought a little life backpack but am battling for her to wear it (even as a bag without the strap attached) at home, never mind when we go out. But she takes after me, and so I won't give up just yet!
  22. Oh goodie, so for example, today when my little ray of sunshine decided to get up at 5am, next week it will be 6am!?!?! Sounds like a reasonable time to be getting up (ish)!!!!! Bring it on......!
  23. friend of mine has them, and loves them, (but i thought that her buggy seemed quite a lot wider than normal, then again she likes to fill them to the brim!!)
  24. My 16 month old daughter started getting eczema in the autumn, and like you we had a private referral possibility through a work scheme. Just as the refferal letters form the doctor were ready to be collected, her eczema cleared up (this happened over about 12 weeks, and during the Christmas break, hence the delays). So we have actually seen the dermatologist because i would feel like a fraud presenting my daughter's clear skin to be examined! It didnt clear up on its own as the doctor had prescribed various things such as: Epaderm (seems to be a nice creamy cleanser, moisturiser) Oilatum (makes the bath oily and her skin very soft) Hydracortisone 0.5% (was a bot worried about using this but was fine) However I also think that possibly the reason for her skin to make such a recovery is the fact that I stopped using fabric conditioner in the washing and also changed to a washing liquid rather then powder (Ecover instead of Fairy i think)? These changes all were implememnted at the same time and so I really dont know what worked and what didnt (sorry if thats a bit confusing)! We ahve stopped using the Hydracortisone cream but still use the other bits from time to time but the change in washing powder I have stuck to as everyone I spoke to said they had problems with fabric conditioner etc etc...? Anyway good luck, Em
  25. my and my 16 month old daughter live nearby and would love to join, help organise, bring cake etc, please can i be on the list? thanks, em
