Who knows, there are no speed cameras unfortunately. -

Well said Sanda. Many drivers are 'missing' the 20mph signs too, is anyone suggesting they aren't visible enough? -
Please help the campaign Fair Air for East Dulwich
march46 replied to Metallic's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
How does someone get in touch with the ?Fair Air for East Dulwich? group if they have questions? Such as, who will be supplying the diffusion tubes? I?ve tried to get some through Friends of the Earth but believe their scheme has unfortunately ended. -
Not sure why the roadworks haven't been carried out overnight, given it's such a major route.

This is an interesting analysis and investigation of commonplace data. Thousands of fake accounts submitting responses, operated by a single overseas server. The lengths some people go to to oppose active travel measures is astonishing! https://www.forbes.com/sites/carltonreid/2021/02/18/consultation-rigging-trolls-get-councils-goat-over-bridge-closures/?__twitter_impression=true&sh=6d28e5802b93 The publicly available data used by One Dulwich/Dulwich Alliance presumably doesn?t show individual accounts, so how do they know if one person submitted multiple responses? This seems to be a major flaw in their report.

It shouldn't be a case of the loudest voice etc, although this forum is that all over. It's no wonder many choose not to engage here.

Rockets there is no confusion between cycling lanes and LTNs in the ambulance service's responses despite you suggesting an attempt to mislead in the article. Further details below. https://www.cyclinguk.org/sites/default/files/document/2021/02/2101_ambulance-trusts-summary_of_responses_to_cycling_uks_fois.pdf

I see Dulwich Alliance are no longer listing the Dulwich Picture Gallery as one of their supporters. Were they not aware they'd be included I wonder?

Great! That road has needed a School Street for a long time.

Interesting how you blame the council, when there was always traffic there https://twitter.com/cleanairdulwich/status/1305975196436885504?s=21 Foggy-minded indeed! n dulwich northerner Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Thanks to Southwark's foggy-minded road closure > schemes, this morning the tailback in Dulwich > Village extended from the northern set of lights > to those in the centre.

Not sure re public transport but it?s a comfortable bike ride since the filters have gone in on Dulwich Square and Melbourne Grove. I cycled from your direction every day for Summer clubs with two 6 years old and a 4 year old. Route as per northern monkey above works well - Calton, through Dulwich Square then Turney. 10 mins.

This article is a good read - https://amp.theguardian.com/world/2020/sep/20/the-new-road-rage-bitter-rows-break-out-over-uks-low-traffic-neighbourhoods?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter&__twitter_impression=true

Interesting that you say there?s a range of views, as that?s what I?ve found speaking to the businesses along Melbourne Grove. Some are clearly worried by the change, some confidently say less traffic will be better for their business, some are indifferent and don?t see it will impact either way. Important to note that both schools are very supportive of the current schemes.

Melbourne Grove closure - Ambulance delayed
march46 replied to Bony Fido's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Meanwhile emergency services were consulted before the schemes were approved. This is nothing but opportunistic. Similar to FairTgirl on twitter blaming the increased traffic on Thursday on the planters. When in fact there had been a serious road traffic accident and all buses were on diversion. -

I asked the council about them being moved today and it's to do with access for waste vehicles. Emergency services weren't mentioned.

Or you?re pro more car congestion. Well said. I heard a stat the other day that 1 in 7 car journeys in London is under 1km - this isn't sustainable. Making the car the least convenient option and at the same time creating safer spaces for people to walk and cycle is essential.

dulwichfolk Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Might be issues with refuse trucks with any > closures in the middle of the road. Might be an issue with the middle of the road being a school entrance...reversing vehicles and children don't mix too well. It's a shame an 'eco' shop is objecting to this so soon. It's less than a week since the planters were installed, Week 1 is too soon to make a rational assessment on the actual impact - the 'it will kill our business' talk is fear, fear of change (totally understandable given the tough trading climate). Give it time. Anyone driving to these shops still can.

Why ?harmful?? Customers needing to drive will still be able to. People walking and cycling spend more time and money in local shops so making a road safer for both those categories could be beneficial.
