  1. Bolognaise and cream sofa . . . .. Arghhhh.
  2. How about Tracy at lawler steel In west dulwich. Being a mum she is very child tolerant. She is also a fantastic hairdresser!
  3. Co amoxiclav is a broad spectrum antibiotic and does provide cover for skin infections ie those caused by staph aureus so it should be ok. But as others have said if you keep vomiting and see no improvement within 24-48 hours do go back. Flucloxacillin is another drug that is often used.
  4. The top 100 names for 2010 have been published on statistics.gov. Feel a little pleased that baby jb's name is not in the top 100. Our boy name (should we ever have a boy) is in the top 5 though!
  5. I'd recommend getting a happy nappy. I think they cost about ?8 on amazon. You can either use a disposable liner or a disposable swimming nappy underneath. Most of the swimming classes insist on this type of double layer system.
  6. Another congrats from here . . May the mayhem commence!
  7. Good luck otta and mrs otta - postmark stock the jellycat toys and are a couple of quid cheaper than jojo.
  8. Many congrats pickle- will you be going into knitting overdrive?
  9. I did wonder as you had been a bit quiet! Many congrats
  10. Did anyone watch this on bbc3 last night? I was in tears most of the way through. I think Miss JB is going to be having lots of cuddles today. For those who didn't see it - it was a documentary following the last months of life of a 21 year old with terminal cancer. Clearly not a cheery subject but Alex was inspiring. Makes you appreciate what you have - and puts all those worries about getting the best pram etc into perspective.
  11. The cafe on bellenden road and if you fancy somewhere the other end of the scale chandelier
  12. Not quite a baby brain story but I became obsessed about being able to park our car outside our house towards the end of my pregnancy. I'd go out and move it along the street space by space until it was directly outside. Someone dared to leave their van outside for a week and I went crazy. I suggested to mr jb that he should let down their tyres. He reminded me that that probably wouldn't be the best way to encourage them to move!
  13. My niece in Australia had a quick smart - she looked pretty comfortable in it and she was nearly 4 when we last visited.
  14. Maybe you've caught his cold!
  15. I've never had a problem either. The waitresses have always seemed really tolerant of children - even when there was a toddler running up and down the length of the cafe and banging shut the door to the back room. I haven't been there quite so Much lately - but that's mainly because I'm a bit bored of the menu.
  16. Have re read my post and realised how negative and depressing it sounded. I still maintain that it is really important to look after yourself at work. Don't be a martyr like I was - no one will thank yous for it. However as said above you will probably start feeling much better in a few weeks time. After going to bed at 8pm in the first trimester I suddenly felt energised in the second. The antenatal appointments aren't too much of a bother - you're not seen that frequently at all until close to the end. As for childcare - please don't stress about that too much. It all works out in the end. You may even find that when baby arrives your plans and preferences change. Good luck
  17. Ole you're welcome to borrow my copy of the slap if you want!!
  18. I've just got back from holiday and quite enjoyed The Slap by Christos Tsiolkas
  19. Saffron Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Mellors, consider yourself very blessed if you are > able to always have private options for transport > available for your children! xx I've got an image of mellors driving round with her brood in a limousine now!
  20. Baby jb is 9 months and is on hunger strike too!
  21. Baby jb didn't drop her late afternoon nap til much later than that too. Has never had a 2 1/2 hour post lunchtime nap either.
  22. I used to think it was really cheeky when young children took up seats on the bus. However after getting the bus with my nieces who were 3 and 5 at the time I have since revised my opinion! When I lived in Perth (Australia not Scotland) they had signs on the trains that full fare paying adults have priority over seats - though I suppose standing on a smooth train is a bit different to the number 176
  23. The early tommee tippee ones have a shallow spoon and long handle and so very easy to feed from. We've just progressed to the 9m ones which have a deeper spoon and short handle. Meant to be easier for her to hold (not so sure about this) If you're anything like us You'll go through a fair few so I'd start with the long handled ones and then buy the more advanced ones as and when.
  24. I second the recommendation for Macmillan cancer support - you'll find loads of valuable information on their website too.
  25. Sorry little h I didn't mean my post to come across harshly - I blame the French Rose! Am still sceptical but you're right - it's unlikely to do any harm. I hope baby e feels better soon.
